The Joe Vitale 'charade' is getting a bit old.

Having said that, he is an unreal 4th line player and should not be scratched over: Adams, Glass, TK, Bennett. (not disrespect to BB, but if you're playing 5 mins on the 3rd line its a waste, not your fault) He brings everything you could want in a 4th liner with his energy. Hits everything in sight. Hell, I think he could fill in decently on the 3rd line.

Why is he never on the PK? I know he could do just as good a job as the others.

Anybody think vitale would be able to stick in a third line role, i realise he isnt as defensive as sutter but he dos all the other little things right.

Expecting a breakout in these next two games for Bennett. Perfect opportunity here.

People need to calm down, once the moves are made and the roster is a final entity Vitale will be in the lineup but for few games over the rest. You have to get guys time to play, and Kennedy got a goal last game, and they probably see if he works out the kinks to get going.

Bennett, unless he starts lighting it up will only be up for so much longer. The Pens can actually take on two players and send down both Despres and Bennett, but I'll assume only one goes down, Bennett.

If they hold onto Boychuk just for the sake of holding onto him, and you don't play him very much, you're shortening the bench that much more. Something has to give out of these three players. Jeffrey, Boychuk, and Bennett.

Oh wouldn't that be great to see! I'm hoping that Letang pops one in as well. I am partial to offense from the blueline though

Vitale is a great 4th line guy, his spot is not in the top 6. He would just become another TK and we would all hate him in less than a year.

I'm pretty sure that Bennett is just up for a cup. I do hope that we see him again in the postseason though.

Unless there is a significant move around the deadline, I have a feeling that DJ, Boychuck, Vitale and Bennett are our answer to not re-signing Kennedy/Cooke.
Though, that does leave us pretty soff on the bottom six...

Well while I believe that I also believe Adams should center Crosby and Malkin

Seems like a decent chance we could come out stale but i think a stale pens team should be able to beat a tired panther team. Hopefully we see the pens get back to good defensive hockey last couple games has been allot of pond hockey.

Anecdotally (i.e., I don't have stats to back it up nor am I compelled to bother looking it up), it seems the Pens have a problem with teams on the tail end of a back-to-back. Hopefully, they'll be fired up after the Philly loss though.

My pessimist side is out today. And it does not like the fact markstrom is in net tonight. Expect us to completely dominate play yet there will be 40 + saves. In a ridiculous 2-1 loss.

Que the fire bylsma posts, and 90 more pages in the winger acquisition thread following the game.

Aside of Vitale being scratched, there's a lot of things wrong anyway.

Cooke have nothing to do on second line, Kunitz is a ghost even when Crosby is in full creativity, Neal have a stick on fire and he's still with Malkin who's cold like ice, while i would for once give him a chance with the kid on the first line and set away that "special chemistry" they had last year.

And Adams is a hard forechecker, and a great asset on PK, no way you scratch him.

We fail on wings, we got Bennett that have a chance to improve and gain experience with the best playmaker of the league, and he's playing on the third line, that's also wrong.

We need a win tonight against the Panthers, that lose against Philly was really painful.

Need a good effort tonight to put that last debacle behind us. I agree with most, puzzling that Vitale sits. Oh well, I guess.

Positive mojo... let's go
