President Elizabeth Warren?

Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbl (a longtime Warren fanboi) thinks so.

Who really would vote for a woman pushing 70 who would have only a few years political experience who is VERY partisan? Would she be best for the US especially as it is in a precarious period?

I'd rather take a far-left celebrity as they're at least non-partisan.

Did you write the second half of your sentence half an hour after the first part.. while also being blindfolded?

I would be thrilled to see her run. I doubt she makes it out of the primaries though

Not a big Warren fan. Don't think it'll work.

Yeah I doubt it too. I'm not surprised that Matt Taibbi has a huge chubby for a woman who takes on the financial industry. He's been going after the big banks for years now, and Elizabeth Warren is a smart progressive with a solid background in that area. She's not a stooge for big business like most senators. I like her, but I'm not sure that the country would vote for someone like her, and I don't know that you can win the presidency without a lot of financial help from lobbyists. The finance, health care and defense industries would pour enormous sums of money into her opponent's campaign.

I'd support her, but she doesn't have much of a chance, I'm on the Schweitzer Bus.

I don't really like her that much. She's 1 dimensional and not even THAT good at being 1 dimensional. She's pointed out that obvious... ok? Some of her solutions are a bit wacky and some stuff she views as problems make no sense.

Speaking of Paul's... After Rand criticized Hagel for not supporting Israel deep enough, a Wolfman interview from a couple years ago surfaced showing him saying he would cut off all foreign aid. When asked "Including Israel" he replied... wait for it.... YES.

So much for those Presidential aspirations

Can't see her being succesful in a run for president. She just doesn't have it IMO.

What's your opinion based on?

I know I'm bordering on pedantic but this woman has lived an extremely impressive and fulfilling life and it's disconcerting to see it judged in a simple sentence by people who (I'm assuming) know very little about her.

Plenty of people have been just as successful, but have not made it to the top. Being President has just as much to do with charisma as it does with the tangible accomplishments. Maybe Tony just doesn't think she has the charisma needed to become President.

That's fine, I'd just like to know how we arrived at these opinions. Most of them seem like they involve very little first hand viewing experience, and are based on regurgitations of the media and friends.

I just find these criticisms a little broad is all.

If by "charisma" you mean "selling your ideals to the highest bidding lobby while buying into the dominant Republicratic ideology," I agree.

The system is designed to weed out, exclude, marginalize, and ridicule political outsiders. Don't want the masses to wake up and realize they've been under the rule of a single party all along. That could hurt Superbowl ratings and Prada sales as the herd wakes from its slumber to demand it's government be returned to the people.

Carefull bud. You're just a hop, skip, and a jump away from being accused of being "a moronic hyper negative piece of garbage" when you refuse to see the political landscape in terms of the naive bifurcation of Fox vs. MSNBC, which are strangely both owned by multiple-billion dollar media conglomerates.
