I sincerely doubt Drouin gets to play with Stamkos and Marty. Despite all the offensive prowess, that line would be atrocious defensively, not to mention easily physically intimidated.

EDIT: maybe on the PP, but I can't see it at even strength

Killron with MSL and Stamkos. Purcell and Flip with Drouin.

Though the second line would lack shooters in that scenario.

70 goals and he will shoot lightning bolts out his butt and fire out of his eyes!

Being serious though, those hands are amazing. Will be a treat to watch for Tampa.

I'd love to compare him to Patrick Kane, but I'm not sure even Kane can have the puck on a string like he does. He's just operating quicker than everyone else.

Drouin was the most skilled player in the draft but there's more to hockey than just scoring . It's hard to pass up a big skilled two way center like Barkov especially when it fills a need and you already have a player like Huberdeau .

Anyway , the top 4 all look like studs so I don't think any team made a poor choice .

You could have put Drouin in Patrick Kane's uniform and I wouldn't have noticed the difference.

I absolutely love players who can stickhandle like this. Tampa fans should be ecstatic to have this guy.

Lol at people overreacting. Yeah he has nice hands but when playoffs starts teams like Boston will tear that deke guy apart. You know hockey is so physical these days that having only good hands will not get you far. I think Barkov will become better all around hockey player and will fit better for playoff hockey.

Teuvo Teräväinen has better hands than Drouin.
So this means TT will become greatest NHL player ever next level mario lemieux.
why i say this? because people completely ignore drouins flaws in his game so ignore teuvos too his got best Hands for any hockey prospect ever and therefore teuvo will become greatest nhl player ever

You forgot to mention that TT can actually skate. This world never seen such a player as TT is!! But yeah, Drouin won't hog-glide around D's in NHL. 5 years from now he might make a difference in NHL, his skating is just not NHL caliber yet.

Pretty much like how they shut down Kane in the finals? Oh wait.

Well, Kaner can actually skate and has nice first step and he has been like that since US development program, unlike Drouin who has pretty much always had below average first few steps. Explosiviness is something you can't teach that much, he won't never be the guy who steals the puck in own blue line and gets that breakaway without opponent catching him. Just to clarify, i'm a huge fan of Drouin.

I'm one of the few that had him ahead of Mackinnon and on record in draft threads, this kid is a special talent, Tallon passed on Jones and Drouin, he may regret this one day.

By "one of the few", you really mean one of the millions, but that's cool. I get that everyone loves pumping up their love for underdogs just in case they totally flip the script in the future.

Yes, there are some Drouin fans, but where I was reading, Mackinnon who is not bad himself was always ahead of Jonathan.

From the majority of games I watched, with the exception of a few memorial cup games, Drouin was always better than Mackinnon. So it was natural to have this kid on top in my analysis.

There is always a question who benefitted who more playing with each other, obviously Frk did.

I think Drouin makes players better around him better than Mackinnon, this is the edge IMO.

Sweet video. Probably the most exciting player out of this year's draft. Amazing skill.

As an Avs fan I have no problem in saying that Drouin is a stud and could be the best player from this draft. So could a Mack/Jones/Barkov too. Anyways I was one of the few Avs who wouldnt have been upset with choosing him at 1. His hands and vision are world class.

I guess it comes down to speed and power for mackinnon and hands and vision for Jonathon. Both are gonna be special.

I'm just super happy my two favorite teams are the Avalanche and Lightning.

Kid looks silky smooth. I can see how he was a great compliment to Nathan's "bull in a china shop" style of hockey.

I'm thinking a faster developing Giroux with a better/quicker release. Love this kid's game.

He does really remind me of Patrick Kane. Just a slick set of hands with the vision and patience to match. I cannot wait to watch this guy over the next few years.

He was also scoring on and dekeing(sp?) out Vasilevski, who is perhaps the #1 goalie prospect in the world at the moment.

He's going to be a beast, no doubt about it.

I wouldn't doubt the kid, he's gonna be incredible. I think he can have multiple 100 point seasons playing with Stamkos, and St.Louis for a few years. That powerplay is gonna be nasty. And I'd be surprised if he isn't a strong Calder candidate next year. It's gonna be a pretty smooth transition for him, I'm pretty sure.
