So, i dont see Oilers and Flyers makin much sense ---both looking for defense- but what about washington?

Correction--MACT AND LOWE and one scout at the game. THIS IS BIG.

Might as well start the inevitable war:

Gagner/Hemsky
Jeff Petry
EDM 2013 1st (Likely a top 10 pick)

for

Couturier

Non-story (despite Oiler bloggers tweeting about it all yesterday)

per Dreger

Oil speculation based on Lowe and MacTavish watching Caps-Flyers. Scouting for Team Canada before attending a sports analytics conf in Bos.

I would have to agree, there is more of a concern with size in their top 6 then their D. Cannot understand why the OP would think the Oilers are looking for D, when the Oilers are carry 8 D with the roster. They need to trade some D and add size in their top 6 more then anything else.

We need both. Correy Potter, Ryan Whitney and Theo Peckham all at best are #7's that should get the call when someone is banged up. Instead we are playing one of them on a regular basis.

Rather see the Oilers call up Marincin or Teubert, then keep Potter or Whitney.

Rather see them get actual NHL talent that can contribute.

They need some upgrading on those 8 Dmen, so I could see them trading for one. You are right they do need size in the top 6 as well.

I like our team the way it is. Hopefully we keep gagner. Should be a good draft year, top ten fills the cupboards even further. Why rush progress?

They need some upgrade with their bottom pair, but that could be had with picks and not giving up anything of great value. With what they have coming up through the system, I cannot see the Oilers trading for anything, unless Smid is not going to resign.

Can't imagine the Oil would be interested in any of Washington's D after last night.

Caps have a ton of spare parts people will be after at the TDL though.

Watched some of the game, Washington's D wasn't much to be excited about
