Why is Bruce Garrioch's credibility constantly questioned?

This is purely a question, not looking to make a case for Bruce.

Seems that a lot of people on these boards laugh whenever a Garrioch rumour or story is posted, calling him a fraud, saying he's at the same level as Eklund, etc.

Can someone enlighten me (and anyone else who's wondering) why that's the case? Is there any specific reason or incident Bruce Garrioch isn't considered as credible as any of the other rumour-monging writers out there?

Thanks.

When has he ever predicted anything right? There's your answer.

Bruce Garrioch has great contacts with the Ottawa Senators organization and provides accurate information (for the most part) about players that Ottawa is pursuing and deals that do (and don't happen).

When it comes to other teams however, he mostly just guessing and hes often completely out to lunch.

On June 16, the Ottawa Sun reported a huge three-way trade between the Chicago Blackhawks, Los Angeles Kings, and the Ottawa Senators. The parameters of the deal were as follows:

Ottawa receives: G Nikolai Khabibulin and D Cam Barker or Brent Seabrook

Chicago receives: C Anze Kopitar

Los Angeles receives: G Martin Gerber and D Andrej Meszaros

I can't find the original article, but this is one of the Garrioch gems.

He is worse than Eklund and his e4's.
