Toronto can easily do that and besides, the Marlies are going to need to attract fans.

Hence how Konstantin Zakarov was able to play in the AHL this season.

Crosby is too young to play in the AHL based on the existing framework.
Patrice Bergeron, Nathan Horton, Brent Burns just turn 20 a few weeks back, are a few that are currently doing it .. NO??

Could Crosby land in T.O.?

if a team like toronto wanted to sign him to the ahl they could no problem

and as for his eligibility, his agent has clearly stated that the ahl is an option.

Take a look at this:

Crosby to Moose or MJHL?

http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/AHL...73048-sun.html

Notable quotes:

Quote:
Those free-spending Chicago Wolves, who are without a doubt Manitoba's No. 1 enemy, have already been rumoured to be going after Crosby.
Quote:
If Crosby loves attention, that's the place to be [in reference to Toronto], but the new Next One is a Montreal Canadiens fan, so playing for the Leafs farm club would be blasphemy.
I'm not saying that second quote makes it less likely for Crosby to play for the Marlies, but sheesh you Toronto fans need to keep it together. If he ends up in the AHL (which is a huge if), there is about as much chance he ends up in Toronto as five other places. But until you hear from either his agent or the player himself I wouldn't put much stock in that article about the Marlies, anymore then I would the article about Manitoba or Chicago.

the LA organization is a possibility. he was in the Kings rookie camp last fall. having him in Manchester would be great.

Actually, Bergeron won't turn 20 until July, I believe.

I'd enjoy seeing Dustin Brown get set up by Crosby.

FYI.

My post was directed at all Leaf/Marlie BS going on, I just used his post because it had the article link in it. My point was that there is most likely an article similar to that on like 5 or 6 AHL teams websites with the owner saying: "I have legally looked into the option of acquiring Sidney Crosby". Then you get a bunch of Leafs fans come in with the a-typical Toronto response: "You guys don't have a chance. We have all the money and every Hockey player on of Gods green earth is sexually aroused by the thought of playing in the T-DOT."

It was in no way a direct comment on the post I quoted, I just wanted to use his link. Though his avatar seems to go against your post completely, but the fact remains I wasn't specificially 'shooting' at him.

Not to be confused with the a-typical non Leafs fan response of "oh the Leafs think they can get anyone, none of your players are even any good anyways...anyone who signs with you is over the hill, even your prospects..."

Seriously, the thread is regarding Crosby signing in the AHL, and because it was a Leafs fan who posted an article regarding Crosby signing in the AHL (with the Marlies, yes) there is something wrong with that?

I understand that you weren't specifically "shooting" at him, however now you've turned around and made it an assault on ALL Leafs fans, which is unfair, and ridiculous.
