Rick Nash is a monster. It's too bad he refused to waive for Ottawa. Jerk.

Marc Staal takes a slapshot to the eye. Video is pretty scary. Hope it isn't as bad as it looked.

I'm glad all our star players wear visors.

Dubnyk for me.

I think every single goalie I've dressed against CBJ this year has lost.

I'm in 6th now. The year looks like writeoff.

I've never really understood why cages are so frowned upon as you move up. I would never not wear a cage.

I thought the same way in my first year Midget and all seasons before that, but the year after when I started Junior and put the visor on, I would not be able to make the switch back now. I would never go no visor though, a few teeth or zippers is a big difference from vision.

If the season ended today, and there were no lottery upsets, the Oilers would be picking 7th overall in the 2013 entry draft.

That is absolutely inexcusable. How does Tambo still have a job? Anyone?

One of the top-3 worst run franchises of the past decade.

You can almost hear the agony of Oiler fans, all the way in Edmonton, from here.

I honestly feel for Oilers fans. I mean, not the ones who clutter the main boards, but for the rest of that fanbase, to have your emotions yo-yoed like that, from highs to lows, it's got to be brutal.

I have a bad heart, it's probably a good thing I'm not an Oilers fan...

I never understood the optimism surrounding the Oilers this year.

Probably the way the kids were playing in the AHL.

The lesson?
Tearing up the AHL ≠ Tearing up the NHL

They were outplayed and outworked by the Jackets. The problem seems to exist throughout the organization. I don't think they ever intended to tank in any of the years, since they spent money, attempted to offer sheet or sign UFAs, and changed coaches often.

Nice to see Foligno on the pp.

Is it all the GMs fault? All of his first round draft choices were pre-picked for him. He took the player everyone said was the first overall & those players have under performed. I was very happy was not in on Hall, Yakopov or RNH. While so many here said how great the Oilers would be I said the opposite. They are too small up front, need much better goaltending (Khabiboulin is done & Dubnyk is a good backup), they lack size up the middle & as a team are not very tough. They are still in rebuild mode but they need a lot of peices.

It's the GMs fault. It's the GMs responsibility to have the right mixture of talent and hardworking individuals, the right coaches and staff to instill a winning attitude and hold everyone responsible. The 1st overall pick each year represents a team which has failed.

And the first overall picks which they were stuck with IMO have not lived up to their billing.

The sad part is that all this suckitude might eventually pay off for the Oilers. They will reach a critical mass of top 10 picks and the sheer skill will ensure wins... kind of like what happened with the Penguins.

CBA to go look up the Penguins cup winning roster, but outside of Staal, Crosby, Malkin, and Fleury, who were their other high picks that made an impact? Letang was a second IIRC and Pittsburgh actually bothered to surround that team with quality veteran players. It wasn't like a bunch of kids won them a cup on their own.

that and crosby and malkin is way better than anyone they have on the roster. tanking for a couple years or more is not a sure fire way to build a winner.
