Zibby will develop a Lando-esque game very soon so it'll make the pain a little less painfull.
Yeah, part of the appeal of Landeskog was that he was easily the most NHL ready guy in the draft. Immediate results are nice, but I want to see how they line up against eachother 5 years from now.
Lando will probably still be the better player, but the gap between the two won't be that big....

Agreed.
Lando will more then likely put up more points then Zibby, but the 'intangibles' will be pretty damn close I think. Zibby may never play as mean as Lando does, but I think Z will develop a nice mean streak of his own. Rookies rarely come in and physically dominate like Lando did.

Thing with Landeskog is how good he is defensively. He's a top 5 defensive forward right now.

Not sure about top 5 but he's easily top 10 with an argument for top 5, but that's not important right now.
I think Zibby's D game will develop into one of the best in the game too. He's so fast and one thing I've noticed is he's really intelligent in the neutral/defensive zone. Paul MacLean is going to turn him into an absolute 2 way monster with possible Selke nominations in his future. His play in the D zone somewhat reminds me of a young Magnus Arvedson.

Yeah, I really like Zib. And I want to see him stay at centre because of that potential. Dunno if he ever touches Lando though.

Like BonkTastic said, Lando was NHL ready, he doesn't have as much to grow as a player imo. He's pretty close to his ceiling (which I think is a PPG player). Zibby is more of a project. He could become a number of things. That's the fascination with guys like Zibby. With his physical package he could become a dominant NHL power forward. Or he could be nothing more then an above average 3rd line grinder.
Part of the fun of a guy like Zibby is waiting, watching and hoping. Personally I see him being a 30g 20a guy with fantastic defense and physical play.
I hate to be that guy to judge someone based on interviews but look at his interviews on the Sens site. He has no emotion. Seems like someone who lacks intensity.

Leaves it all for the ice. Zibanejad has surpassed my expectations but I don't have high expectations for draftees past the 3rd pick.
Oilers up 2-0 in the third. Wings get one. Then on the PP, Kronwall fires a point shot. Petry turns around and shoots it into his own net to tie the game. It heads off to overtime. Datsyk dangles Petry and snipes the OT winner.

Ron Maclean is arguing against KDaug's shootout move, he said something like "how can Rask make a save with all that snow being plowed in front of him?" (Even though Rask DID make the save).
