General rule for waiver exemptions

Quote:
For 18 or 19 year-olds who play in 11 NHL games: the exemption becomes three years for skaters, or four years for goalies, starting with the season the player plays his 11th game.

When a player 20 or older plays in his first professional game (i.e. NHL, AHL, or any other professional league game), the season in which that game is played counts as his first year of exemption.

(So, playing in an AHL game before you’re 20 — as many juniors players do after their juniors seasons end — doesn’t trigger anything.)

A player 25 or older who plays in one professional game is exempt for the remainder of that season only.

Albany won, and now just 4 points behind the Whale with one game on hand.

WBS beat Norfolk and is now 4 points ahead with an extra game for the Whale.

On the other hand, Norfolk is now a point behind with an even number of games.

5. POR 67 79
6. WBS 69 78
7. CT 68 74
8. HER 67 73
9. NOR 68 71
10. ALB 67 70
11. MCH 67 69

* The AHL season is only 76 games, so the Whale has 8 games left and the other teams have 7-9 games.

They've gotta keep it up. Imagine if they get Kreider and/or Miller back as rumored. Completely different team.

I would think they will get Kreider back now that Clowe and Zuccarello is on the Rangers. He was getting 3 minutes a game before Clowe, so I think he'll be going down to Hartford.

To be honest, Miller will be more helpful at center than Kreider on the wing because the team is more short in that position than with Hrivik, Mash, Yogan and Bourque already on the LW. But Ranger priorities obviously beat Whale priorities.

Kreider - Miller - Fast would be a pretty good line and they can build chemistry in Hartford.

Yeah, that's a hell of a team right now. I have to assume that Hrivik is back this weekend, seeing as he's been back to full practice for 10-11 days now.

Kreider - Noob - Thomas
Hrivik - Miller - Fasth
Haley - Mash - Palm
Yogan - Tessier - Bourque

Segal, Jean and Ferriero would step in for whoever is struggling. They are really good AHLers, tough to sit them as healthy scratches.

This team has very competent 5 lines, not 4. Not sure who even to sit. I wish they would trade Ferriero+Segal for another Noob.

Yep, I'm glad for CT fans. They have a great club now, at least up front and between the pipes.

I think they find a place for Segal and his 22 goals. Remember, Yogan might be hurt. I haven't heard an update but he definitely injured his right hand in a "fight" on Saturday night. He didn't return. Could also see Ferriero in place of Tessier on the fourth line but Tessier's PK skills are valuable, so maybe not. Like you said though, they're loaded with forwards. It's a good problem to have!

The only reason I put Bourque and Yogan ahead of Segal is that they have higher odds of playing in the NHL, but Segal definitely deserves to dress, he's a good player.

Yeah, this is true. I wonder how much that weighs into Kenny's decision on who to dress. Also good debate between dressing Palmieri or Segal. It will be interesting to see the lines this weekend!

Either Moore or one of the other Rangers will join the Whale defense. If it's not Moore, it's likely Eminger or Gilroy.

P.S. And I thought this would be a quiet trading deadline.

P.P.S. Just noticed that Parlett is gone. No biggie, I didn't view him as an NHL prospect anymore. Delisle is total crap, no use for him, glad we got rid of his contract.

Moore - Klassen
Vernace - MCI
Stu - Pyett

That's a very strong defense.

Kreider and Fast are down with Whale, but Miller only was sent down to be eligible for AHL playoffs. He's back with Rangers

Kreider - Newbury - Thomas
Hrivik - Mashinter - Fast
Haley - Jean - Palmieri
Ferriero - Tessier - Bourque

Segal as a spare ??
Yogan out (now injured)??
Wilson back in ECHL

MSC, Nicholls and possibly Lindberg (doubtful this season) incoming...

WOW up front!!!

Collins - Klassen
Vernace - MCI
Bickel - Pyett
Connor, Hughes & eventually Gilroy (when Staal returns?) incoming
A bit weaker on D IMO

Then you wonder if they sign draft picks Noreau (currently injured) and McColgan and also give them a look this year???

Talk about a stacked squad though
