Can't complain about Zubrus, even if I thought the term was wayyyy too long for someone like him but he's a key piece that's very underated around here.
Regarding Clarkson, we signed him on the cheap didn't we not, so I don't see the point of bringing him up cause we didn't spend over 10M$ like we did with #7 and Anton. See Clarkson when talking about Bernier, Harrold and Butler.

Volchenkov isn't playing fine relative to Tallinder. Volchenkov is playing fine regardless. If you truly believe that Fayne in over Tallinder makes Volchenkov the problem, then you're honestly just looking for someone to be the goat.
Put in Fayne instead of #7 and Volch becomes our weakest d-men. It's just reality, nothing more.

We gave Parise a pretty solid offer and if Lou would've broke the bank like the Wild did, who knows, he would probably be here today. Lou did offer him a outrageous deal, Parise just chose a bigger one and signed elsewhere.

I would agree with you but with the amnesty that would only hurt his value on his next contract. If he was Volk and signed for three years that would make sense but he would literally take millions out of his pocket if he was doing that this year

I was trying to defend him before yesterday, but yesterday was bad. Maybe he needs to sit one more time to get his head straight but we can't have such a liability I won't be harsh and say he is done but he is making mental mistakes. it isn't talent as much as it seems to be confidence he seems to always go for the wrong side of oncoming players
Imagine if this was Montreal, and a Fayne-type was getting scratched daily there. Good god, the speculation that would be going on would be almost laughable. This is where we're 'lucky' nobody really pays attention, other than when we scratch Kovy for being late to team meetings.

Speaking about players from the UFA period, I think Lou knows what kind of players this team needs. We need big-bodied strong wingers whose strengths are along the boards.

Honestly, that's it for the realistic wingers, didn't include Iginla. There's the abundance of guys like Ponikarovski, but those are really the only guys that have some sort of top six ability.

Met Oates in a bar (in boston this hole in the wall place)when he played there. Bought us a round of beers and talked hockey for a half hour,,,was very cool just like a regular guy hanging out.
