The West's 7th and 8th seeds

With 1 game to go for all 3 parties involved, Columbus is sitting on the outside looking in in 9th with Minnesota tied with them in points in 8th and Detroit 1 point ahead of them in 7th.

We know...

Detroit plays in Dallas
Minnesota plays in Colorado
Columbus hosts Nashville

How do you see these games going? Which team will get the 7th seed and play Anaheim, and which team will get the 8th seed and play Chicago?

Minnesota doesn't even deserve to be in the playoffs. Detroit and Columbus are playing like they actually want to make it in while we're playing like. . . . **** I don't even know but it's god awful.

My prediction is that both Columbus and Detroit win while we lose and miss the playoffs yet again. This will be the 2nd year in a row the Wild have collapsed and missed, not sure which one will sting more, but I'm guessing I'll find out tomorrow night.

If your guys did make it, would you rather face Anaheim or us?

I'd rather face Detroit than Columbus or Minny, just seems like a more exciting series.

God damn right I would rather face Anaheim. Even if we make the playoffs it'll likely be as the 8th seed and we might as well just pack it in because we're not beating the Hawks. We'll either get swept or manage to win one game at home and lose 4-1.

Wings 7th Wild 8th. The ROW tiebreaker will bite Columbus I think.

My baseless prediction:
Wings goes 7th
CBJ goes 8th

Wild just played tonight so they may be tired. I also think COL is playing better than NSH at the moment.

I don't think either CBJ or MIN will stand a chance against CHI though.

Is it possible for Detroit to drop out and Minny getting 7th and Columbus 8th?

Colorado also played tonight in Phoenix so they'll be tired as well. And I think you mean CBJ is playing better than NSH, not COL because it's Columbus that plays Nashville tomorrow night while the Wild play the Avs.

I feel like Minnesota is going to lose in shootout. Columbus wins in regulation. Detroit wins in OT.

Yes. Detroit would have to lose in regulation with both Minnesota and Columbus winning.

Sorry to confuse you. I mean COL>NSH, therefore Wild is facing a tougher opponent.

On a related note, NSH started Chris Mason last game. If they do that again tomorrow and give CBJ an easy win, would Wild fans be up in arms? I don't think Rinne was injured and it wasn't a back-to-back.

Wild fans wouldn't care because it's their own damn fault they're in this position in the first place. Relying on a Columbus loss is not the way I want to get in. Then again, I'm not sure I want to get in at all if it means facing Chicago in the first round. Columbus would be a better match-up for the Hawks.

Of course they'd be mad. I remember Don Cherry losing it when the Devil sat Brodeur on the last game of the season a couple of years ago. It caused the devil to lose and Toronto was knocked out of the playoffs.

NSH will definitely start their backup though. Why risk any injuries and why not go for a lower draft pick?

It needs to happen as a conference send off.

They did? Could've fooled me.

I still think Minnesota wins tomorrow. They can't possible screw this up two years in a row, can they?

I don't have any sort of guess as to who is getting in where tomorrow, but hot dang am I stoked for tomorrow's games. My hope is that Detroit loses and Min and #lumbus win.

Then on top of these games, my Blues are playing one of my three least favorite teams in order to try and get home ice in the first round, while at the same time LA and San Jose are playing to see who gets the higher seed.

I know it sucks that we only got to watch 48 games this season, but holy hell has it made for some drama this time of the year!

Chicago vs Columbus

Anaheim vs Minny

Dallas beat Detroit tomorrow.

Minny can't lose against the Avs. That would be hilarious with those signings. No depth on defence though.

Bobrovsky remains consistent and Gabby's involved in 3+ goals against the Preds.

I actually liked the 48 as compared to the 82. I was all in for every game, while I usually lose interest around mid season just to come back around playoff time.

You could tell last game that Gabby was feeling it. He didn't get any points, but he was active and was being a pain for Dallas.

Minnie can lose to everyone, they just suck. But yeah, it would be hilarious. Can't wait for Avs to kick their dumb *****.
