MikeRibeiro gaining ground at halfway pole

Jimmy Murphy ‏@MurphysLaw74
Ribiero is a UFA and according to many I've spoken to is on trade market. Julien praised him today. Could help Bruins offense/PP

Mitch Melnick ‏@HunterZThompson
@MurphysLaw74 In light of everything lately that would be perfect.

If anyone can thread a pass like Savard it's him. Besides when he fished out on everyone guess who was his coach?

Hendricks is a 4th liner on this team. Not what they need IMO.
they need bottom sixth depth, energy players, defensively responsible, hard on the puck, hard on the D- he can play center and wing and is very good on the draw, he can also fight a bit

They have one of the best top 6's in hockey - this is exactly what they need

you did watch the game tonight

I loved him in my sim leagues could play him anywhere.

Exactly as you say NHL wise, plus I think he is a better player than what he has shown. He would be coming for a 2nd tour, this time a NHL Bruin.

Ya, I did and I watched every this season. Matt Hendricks is a fine player if we were losing Campbell or Paille. But that's not the case.

You won't get an argument from me about the top 6 being one of the best. The problem is, when the won the Cup, the third line was the one of the best in the NHL too, not the case for the past 2 seasons. Adding Hendricks doesn't make them much better. He's a plumber, they don't need a plumber.

Wonder how comfortable Julien will be with Dougie going into the playoffs. Kids getting burned/outmuscled quite a bit down there.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Bruins add more vet proven D to the lineup soon.

going to bed, atleast they may be considering righting a wrong love to see the return of Sobotka (not sure what it would take but he'd be great on the third line, and once Knight and Spooner come up I'd be all set)

come on Chiarelli, you got your lieutenants watching him- pull the trigger (just no Knight or Spooner- Koko I can deal with)

in the words of Jeff Spicoli- that would be 'awesome'.....

This feels like such a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Bourque is the only new guy in the forward group, the third line struggles a bit, and all the negative attention gets focused on that one spot. As though any other team in the league wouldn't love that line with Bourque on it.

And if the defense struggles, well it's always safe to fall back on Ference bashing. It's a time tested practice in these parts.

From my view the entire team has had defensive lapses that have cost them the last few games. Further, Bourque is hardly the issue with the forwards. That entire line has looked fair, and frankly so has the 4th line, and a few of our so-called stars. I think the lesson to remember is that this is a grind. There's no "urgency" to upgrade a 3rd line left wing in the NHL, and there's no need to panic about defensive veterans 16 games into a season. Patience and realism.

it makes them better

they need bottom 6th depth- they need to lengthen the lineup- they lost tonight because they lalygagged, err, gagged....

a team is not a collection of stars but a bunch of pieces that fit....Ryder would have been my first choice (actually Knight healthy would be my first choice, then Sobotka coming back, then Ryder)

Hendricks is more than a 4th liner, he played first tonight and the past couple and has scored a couple of goals in that time- the guy can take faceoffs, kill penalties, fight, you see the first period when he hit Boychuk and Chara....we saw him in Providence and loved his game (I admit I'm partial to him because I called it then he was an NHL player and would play regularly on the bottom two lines)

the price would not be significant but he's Campbell....he's a great lockerroom guy

I am not alone on this (I am finding out)

Bourque has got to go. He's horrible. IDK why he has stayed so long. The business of hockey is to win games Bourque does not help you win games. He does nothing.

i think when you're winning games you tend to tweak the lineup less... so he got some extra games in the name of not running with what was already working. The scratch didn't work, Julien gave him some extra opportunities to burn his old team and he didn't capitalize.

i'd assume that he is going to be sitting or sent down more than playing the rest of the way.

He doesn't have to fit, he only has to pass. He would deliver so many passes on a gold trimmed plate to Lucic that Lucic wouldn't be able to lift his arms to fight.

Are you saying Ribero would be a better passer and player than DK?

DKH - you hearing anything on Hendricks? Just wondering because you dropped his name four or five times there. Almost started to sound deliberate.

Amen to this, plus having another aggravating pest in the lineup with decent hands is never a bad thing.

That is not true he does a very good job of making his linemates look terrible.
