**UPDATE**

Malkin practiced today and will be skating with the team shortly.

Letang responded well today and will see how he is for tomorrows game.

He didn't say all that much, pretty much what i just said.

The impression I got from Bylsma is that Letang's injury isn't serious at all. He might be able to even play tomorrow. I think that he might sit just to be safe, but I could definitely see him back by at least Sunday's game against the Flyers.

I think everyone in here should stop, take a deep breath, possibly close your eyes, and remember what we went through a year ago in regards to injuries, and compare it to right now. Sure Malkin and Letang are currently out, but these are mere flesh wounds. Last year was HORRENDOUS. Every game I felt like I was cringing, waiting for the next key player to go down in pain.

We are one lucky ****ing franchise to be witnessing this collection of talent in relative health so far this year. Knock on wood, of course.

Thank you Pope Francis, brother of Joe... for hearing our prayers. And the prayers of the poor (allegedly).

This is true. And Crosby cme back right around this time last year, but the 14+ months proceeding that comeback were pure hell for Pens fans. Actually looking back it's hard to believe it was only 14 months, because the saga felt like it was going on for years.

Jeffrey, not Malkin, skating between Neal and Bennett during line rushes at game-day skate.

Martin and Niskanen on points of No. 1 power play. Malkin kneeling at center ice, not working out with either power play unit.

Probably wants to keep the third line a defensive one. Doesn't make sense though, they need someone who can get Neal going.

i guess no one can't say that Jeffrey isn't getting a chance to center a line with talent anyway...

but yea, i think we'd all rather see sutter there and push jeffrey down to 3rd line duties.

Jeffrey is trade bait IMO. As long as he is, he'll stay there.

the sad thing is, he is going from playing with talent to playing over his head. We completely skipped him past the position he has the best chance of being a good fit for.

LETANG UPDATE: Skated before team's practice. Lower-body injury, day-to-day. May practice tomorrow per Coach Bylsma.

Malkin, on what is believed to be a shoulder injury: "It’s better today. Every day, it’s better. But it’s still a little bit sore."

Good news on Letang and Malkin. Both seem like they should be back in the lineup very soon.

Knock on wood, but somewhat lucky with injuries this season, despite the games Geno has missed.

Let Letang/Malkin sit a few more games, we are in no rush. Lead the East by 3 points. They can come back after the Flyers game.

Working with individual trainer suggests he'll miss the next practice / game. Especially if he has a groin-type situation where multiple practices / workouts in a 24 hour period is usually a recipe for continued soreness / tightness. Fine with it. Let him sit out a few games and heal up.

It would appear so, he left the ice as the rest of team came on to start practice.

Letang will probably be at the morning skate tomorrow with the team, i won't be shocked if he ends up playing tomorrow night.
