I never seen a team get as many powerplays as Habs. A 5 min major vs Leafs for maybe a 2 min penalty .wow..

It's "rivalry night" and I'm watching the friggin Caps and Flyers instead of the Habs/Leafs game? What the hell? Would it hurt the ratings that badly to have two Canadian teams? This game is awful, the Caps suck.

Milbury annihilated Ovechkin after the second, and you know what? He was 100% right. The clips he showed were indefensible and numerous.

I hope they don't take it to OT. We don't need both teams picking up points

I thought the Leafs and their goons were supposed to crush the Habs?

Washington is brutal. Watching them makes last season even worse. They have zero offensive threats outside of Ovy when he feels like playing. Backstrom hasn't been doing much either lately.Weird team.

Caps really do look pitiful this year. They don't seem to have any defense and Ovechkin just doesn't seem to be a team player.

That Harry Z hit was clean. Sad that Pierre immediately compares it to Hall's on Clutterbuck

Glad I am not the only one who saw it this way.

Also, that goonery did the Leafs really good tonight. Wish we played like them lol.

Wait... what now?

It is their "goons" fault that they lost?

Their 4th line was +1, scored a goal, and Orr (15mins on the 3rd line) was also +1.

The Leaf's top skill line goes -4 and now Toronto lost because they have too many tough guys in the line-up? Good logic.

Le sigh. Firstly, I'm not certain where in my post I said it was the "goons" fault that TML lost. I'm actually quite certain I referred to the Leafs and their goons...so well, everyone who skated on the ice tonight.

I was responding tongue in cheek to this post.

All I kept hearing was that the Leafs' physicality was going to put the screws on the smaller, smurfy Habs, and certainly after the 6-0 beatdown from the last meeting.

That clearly didn't happen.

No, not everything is that clean, nor that black and white. It wasn't for that game, and it certainly isn't for any Bruins games or any NHL games, no matter how hard people try to make it about one thing (or the lack of one thing).

Just some social commentary.

I totally understand where you're coming from. This board is in an odd frenzy with this physicality/toughness thing right now. Habs dominated that game.

I have a feeling that if the B's were .500 right now but fought ten times a game people here would be happier with that than their current record. Very puzzling.
