Not saying he is gonna dramatically change this offense, but what we have and what we have been doing isn't working (i.e. dump and chase, richards, boyle on PP, etc)
Agreed. If he's going to play 4 minutes, just bring up Ferriero instead and be done with it.

guys are acting like this is the first and only player that has had to endure a few trips back and forth between the NHL and AHL.

Oh the horror.

If you don't deserve to stay with the parent club, off you go.

If you play your way back to the big club or play a position of need due to injury to the parent club, off you go.

It's incumbent on KREIDER, not Torts or Sather to make sure that he stays in the NHL.

personally, I've been fine with the demotions in the sense that I don't see him doing enough of what the coach wants to warrant a longer stay.

That's not to say that I agree with what the coach wants, but at the end of the day, you have to play how the coach wants or you navigate your way to the minors.

seems simple enough.

Kreider was good his last time up. Anyone saying he warranted a trip back to the minors is lost. Especially on a team that is so offensively inept.

I agree. It is incumbent on Kreider to prove that he should stay and put forth the all out effort that any professional should put out, but that being said is it fair to bury the kid on the fourth line after he makes one or two mistakes? I don't think you can treat every young player the same. The kid has talent and abilities that are sorely missing on this team. In order to succeed you have to give the the kid more than just a period or two to show you what he has. How about a stretch of 3 or 4 games while playing consistently on a line that has some offensive ability? I know now its too late in the season to do this, but if its either 4th line minutes (after making one or two mistakes) or the minors for the rest of season then obviously the minors would be better place for him to hone his skills.

I don't like what this means for Boyle.

I'm confident that if it was Boyle taking that face off on the PK instead of Richards, he would've won and it may have been a different game

Hate him all you want, we need the guy

I'm interested to see where he plays. Seems like Brassard could be a nice fit as his center.

No doubt! We do need him. I am happy Kreider is getting a chance again, but would have rather have had it been at the expense of Brad Wade. (But i wouldn't wish injury on anyone).

Was thinking that myself. Maybe him and Brassard have this fantastic chemistry and both go on a tear and we clinch the 8th spot and demolish Pittsb.... It was a nice dream.

In all seriousness I do agree that those two could really wreck havoc on opposing teams.

If Kreider plays with confidence and uses his speed consistently, any of the Rangers top-3 centers, Brassard, Stepan and Richards, should be good fits for him. They are all cerebral players. He needs to play with an edge.

Would love to see him with Brassard and Callahan. Put Hags back on the first line with Steps and Nash. Good looking top 6 if Kreider brings it.

Would like to see
Hags-Step-Nash
Kreids-Brass-Zucc
Clowe-Rich-Cally
Pyatt-Powe-Asham

If Zucc and Cally swap places that would probably be equally good.

Winner winner. But smart money says the clown will play him on the 4th line. O/U 6 minutes and 8.5 shifts.

Kreider-Brassard-Zucc over under on combined +/- should be set at -4.

Torts will never ice that line, during the peak of a playoff push no less.

The way Pyatt and Ash are playing these days I don't see Torts playing any of them on the third line. He could go with Clowe, but then who would center the fourth with Boyle out? Pretty sure Kreids will be starting out on the 3rd (or 2nd) line.

He has to earn the promotion as it pertains to ice time and line mates. If he's not doing what the coach asks/requires he's not going to get rewarded.

Kredier has been inconsistent at best regardless of the role that has been asked of him, the whole team has, but when you are fighting for the PO's, it is easier to trust a vet in certain situations than a kid that is still dripping wet behind the ears.

he hasn't shown that he should be given 5-10 games to play with Stepan and Nash (they are the only two consistent producing forwards) and playing him with Richards is not going to do anything for the kid.

I do agree with your last comment. 20 minutes a night in all game situations in Hartford or 7-8 minutes a night in NY?

I prefer Hartford as well.

Would love to see the plan B mentioned above:

Hags-Step-Nash
Kreids-Brass-Cally
Clowe-Rich-Zucc
Pyatt-Powe-Asham

Makes a lot more sense than MZA on the line with Brass and Kreider.

Good lord is Richards CLEARLY gone after this year.

I just think Kreider has a better chance of burying Zucc's passes than Clowe has, and Rich and Zucc on the same line tends to lead to over passing. Defensively these lines probably make the most sense.

oh great. play him on the 4th with the 2 worst offensive players on the team then wait for people after the game to talk about how kreider didn't do anything to "show he should be promoted."

would be ridiculous if he's not at least on the third line.

Hopefully he gives a consistent effort all game this time around, but not holding my breath.

Still has a lot digging to do within himself to be a full time NHLer.

Let the kid play. If he's up here, play him in the top-9 at the least, and get him PP time.
