Im kind of surprised how comfortable everybody on here seems to be about Poulin being in net tonight (if in fact he is, I havent seen confirmation of this anywhere). Im being completely honest, I feel more nervous about him being in than if DiPi was going to be in.
DiPi may give up a bad goal or two (and 3-4 overall) in each game, but we still had a chance to win in each and every one of those games. I just get this feeling Poulin plays and he gives up like 6 goals or something. I really hope I am eating my words by 10 p.m. tonight and he shuts the canes out. Everybody on here seems to feel that Rick is sent down and now we suddenly magically have a capable backup to give Nabby more games to rest and still gives us a chance to win, but I dont quite see it that way and Poulin's performance in the AHL this year would seem to agree with me.
I think Ward played, at least that's what I recall from watching NHL Tonight.
Ellis played last night. So most likely Ward will be in net tonight, and most likely Poulin will. I think anyone is an upgrade over DP, that's why I have more confidence tonight than I should. Earlier I said it comes down to the goalies, specifically how well Poulin plays. Of course, that's only if the Islanders show up to play. If they play like they did against Philly, well then it doesn't matter how good Poulin is.
This is a really big game for the team, this is typically the game we sh** the bed...getting back to .500 and hopefully tied for a playoff spot by the end of the night...im hoping poulin is in net, im excited to see him play but nabby also doesnt seem as sharp when hes over loaded...35 saves is pretty heavy lifting for a game, to turn around and line up 24 hours later is board line unfair to the goalie
Lets go Isles! Win a big game for please please please have someone shadow eric staal, he kills us
At mulcahys right now for my kids football/cheer dinner and Kate Murray was just standing right next to me.... I feel I am jinxed now...between that and the black jerseys makes me nervous about tonite... Hoping poulin steps up big for us
The next 7 home games will see what team we have, whether we are playoff bound or if we are a lottery team. I wonder what Garth does if we get close to the playoffs? does he make moves in the trade deadline??
