Agreed but I just don't see GMG doing ANYTHING other then trading for BS at the deadline....if the Isles are out of it.

If we go 5-2 on this home-stand, we'll make the playoffs.

We'll go 3-4 instead.

I'm excited to see Marty again! One of my all time favorits (keep in mind my conscious Islanders' fandom dates from the mid-90s so I don't have much to choose from).

That should be the goal, especially since they need to catch up and make up for the poor home start.

I'm excited to see him play again too. Was always a steady and solid defenseman. Maybe he'll bring a little more stability to our D. But I did like how Finley was playing recently.

Ya, I mean at the rate the Islanders have been playing at home going 4-3 would be very good. I think anything better than 4-3 will be a fantastic step in the right direction. And worse than 4-3.......(shudder).

If Marty is playing I hope you all have your expectations in check. He hasn't played an NHL game and over a year and last "full" season for him was two years ago. He is a 7D if that at this stage of his career.

My thoughts exactly. He was losing it before he left the Island and I don't see how a year off is going to make him any better. I also thought Finley was doing a solid job on the 3rd pairing.

If Poulin is in goal tonight. The Islanders should be more alert, more focused and less lazy, they know they won't have Nabby to bail them out, which is why we win this game 4-3.

Agreed. I too believe for this reason that the boys will play solid defensively tonight and we come out with a win.

Grabner needs to be with Neilsen or Bailey.

I'd pay to see Grabner-Bailey-Ullstrom for a few games - or at least Grabs-Neilsen-Bailey which should be the no brainer 2nd line.

Poulin could stop the Cane's mojo in the coliseum streak. Really like our last 5 periods. Feels like things are coming together but this 7 game homestand will determine a lot. Need 4 wins to be a success.
I think 10 points (of the possible 14) is the minimum I'd want to see. I think that'd get us right back in this thick of the 7 and 8 slots.

Black Jerseys
Nabby has night off
First game for Martinek

Guess the powers that be just don't see this game as something that matters.

Poulin earns shutout. Breaking the curse....leading to the Isles to trade Nabby, Vis, and KO for a legit winger for JT and anything else someone wants to add at the deadline.

Have they got superstitious? Everyone on here was saying black jerseys tonight. Isles just tweeted they're wearing the royal blue ones. Interesting that they were so specific.

you didnt see Howies interview with Snow? We dont need a legit winger for JT, we have Finley and Boulton for toughness

So 30+ goals in three straight years isn't a legit NHL winger anymore?

Looking forward to seeing Poulin for the first time in a while. I hope Johnny goes off on Carolina, he tends to play very well against them... 14 points in his last 5 games if I'm correct.

Islander's twitter says they're wearing the regular home blues. I feel better about this game already.
