Jim Deshaies: One of the funniest analysts in the majors for years, he's taking a step up from Astros to the Cubs this season. That loss might be more upsetting to Astros fans than the 100 or so their team is likely to suffer this season. The former pitcher can dissect a game with the best of them while keeping us entertained.
Brad Ausmus: Fox would have to get in line behind the teams that would love to convince this guy to manage. The Ivy Leaguer is as intelligent and well-spoken as anybody they could find. He'd be a star by the middle of his first season.
Bobby Valentine: This is entertainment after all. And it is Fox. Bringing Bobby V back to the booth is as close to reality TV as they're going to get. He knows his X's and O's and doesn't have to be concerned with who he his rubs the wrong way. And he'll fit right in on the inevitable glut of Red Sox-Yankees games.
Manny Ramirez: OK, so he's a longshot. But he should be available after a 2013 victory lap in Taiwan.
Probably just said that because it's a St. Louis broadcast and that's what the fans want to hear...
Could be, but it was a Blues broadcast, not a Cards broadcast. Many Blues fans could give a damn about the Cards. He got his start in baseball, and his dad is a broadcasting legend for (mainly)baseball and he's from St. Louis. I think there's a pretty good chance he likes baseball quite a lot
