CBJ doesn't even consider this. They have no need for D prospects and Hemsky doesn't come close to getting Johnson out of Columbus.

Not even close

Johnson can haul 20+minutes a night and is starting to come into his own

Petry and Gagner would be what the BJS might ask for

Jack Johnson's a mess of a Dman. I can see why CBJ fans wouldn't do this trade, but Edmonton wants to keep the puck out of their net - this trade doesn't exactly help that.

I really would love to have Hemsky. But definitely not at the price of JJ.

Hmmm no

Johnson is very valued in Columbus. Anything from Edmonton for JMFJ would have to include one of those three players Oilers fans wouldn't give up for anyone.

Just not going to happen.

It wasn't a Columbus fan that made the proposal.

OP is horrible for Columbus.

This makes a lot of sense for Edmonton. The CBJ need forwards and Hemske fits the bill. But looking at the big picture, Hemske doesn't seem to fit this team long term. And I like Hemske.

Don't like the idea of trading Marincin away, Columbus and Edmonton don't make good trading partners, Oilers pass.

Not even close.

Johnson isn't that good, but it's clear that CBJ value him a lot.

I'd rather see what Marincin can turn into, than trade for Johnson.

I think there are many more d men I'd rather the Oilers trade for than Jack Johnson.

I wouldn't trade Peckham for Johnson.

Johnson puts up nice points and has a good draft pedigree, but all advanced stats (not just one or two) show him to be a borderline NHL d-man. He's awful. Can't defend.

I literally do not want Andy Delmore v.2 on my team. Bad player.

We have Jeff Petry and Oscar Klefbom coming up, we'll be fine. Marincin and Musil will also be arriving soon enough.

Columbus will want overpayment for JJ which Edmonton will be fine without. I've watched Jack Johnson,

I'll have to ignore this thread, the ignorance in here is strong. Fans said the same crap about Nash, overrated, blah blah blah blah, doesn't deserve paycheck yada yada yada, while all of us said you were all full of crap. Hell NYR fans fought us the hardest during all the trade talk. Now ask NYR fans how they feel about Nash and how we described his play.

Johnson is far from crap, Johnson has been a legit top pairing guy for us since we brought him in. Not one CBJ fan complains about him, because we see him play and see what he does on the ice. His "advanced" stats don't mean anything.

Did I say it was? I said I could see why CBJ fans wouldn't do this trade, but I don't get why Edmonton would either.

Isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Would sound better if hemsky was cheaper, and had a longer contract.

No, it's worse. Infinitely worse.

The only way it could be even worse is if it included yet another attempt to poach Johansen.

News flash to all Edmonton Oilers fans: WE ARE NOT DOING YOUR REBUILD FOR YOU.

Why would we want the Columbus Blue Jackets to rebuild for us?!

Not saying CBJ should do this but Hemsky would instantly become their best offensive player so it's not ridiculously one-sided.

Or if JJ was more expensive or older. What kind of argument is that? It is what it is. Which is not really close.

Hemsky is a new player this year. He is much better than you think he is, and has similar value to JJ... Not saying he has the same, but he's pretty close.

Oh viqsi. The hyperbole is strong. Johnson looks good to the untrained eye but further examination reveals that he is a mess defensively. And johansen is not really worth giving up much for. Serious disappointment at this point. He could turn it around but all signs point to him bein a very underwhelming nhler. I wouldn't trade hemsky for either.
