Jim Fox should replay that clip on the air and just keep asking Hayward for an apology or a "you were right, I was wrong".
I love how in that clip Jim Fox talks about the players the Kings currently had and Hayward starts talking about prospects like he is on HF or something. Then his comment about the Kings being in bad shape because of long term contracts when pretty much most analysts have marveled at DL's ability to keep the entire roster together for at least the following season unlike most teams (cough... Duck.. cough.. errr... should I say quack?) that have won the Cup post 2004 lockout.
As much as I don't like the Ducks' two announcers, the Avs announcers are the by far the worst in the league. Those idiots don't even call the game. they just sit there and BS with each other the whole game like a couple of cackling hens. At one point they were discussing the Kings ability to bring their entire roster back for this season and how everyone is now healthy and playing.
This is the biggest game of the season for multiple reasons. And no I am not being hyperbolic. I understand that every game, especially in a shortened season are important but this game is the single biggest game of the season for this team. I'll tell you why since you asked.
1. The kings are tied for least games played in the league with 16. The ducks have also played only 16.
2. Lets take a look at the standings in chorus with GIH (games in hand)
3. The measuring stick game. The ducks are playing great hockey this year and Fasth is playing out of his mind. This is the epitome of measuring stick game to say the least. You win this game and it could be seen as the game that changed the path of both teams.
Last 10: ANA 9-1-0*. LA 6-4-0
*ducks have won 6 straight and come from behind in each game.
4. IMHO this is the beginning of the rivalry the way it should be.

Yeah the Avs announcers were pretty much saying ******** during that game, they never said the whole truth. But man haywards face should be copied on every piñata, it's so smackable.
I hope the Kings players come out strong for this one. Our first periods worry me the most. Once Sutter gets everyone in the room he is able to adjust to whatever the team is doing.

I hope that everyone on the kings team agrrees with Doughty, but there is no point in him giving him Bulletin Board Material like that.
Kings need to pounce early. As bad as the Kings have been early the Ducks have been worse. Many games they are down by 2 after 2 periods. That being said they have come back to win many of those games. So dont let up.
They seem to score 4 goals a game which covers a lot of mistakes their D may make.
If this turns into a high scoring game for both teams with bluelines scrambling all over the place, we will lose. This is a huge game for our young, inexperienced D. If they can hold it together and we get a lead, we'll win - I don't care how many games the Ducks have come back in.
Lol Ducks fans mad about Dewy's comment. That's just Dewy being Dewy; lol he said similar things like that in the playoffs against canucks and yotes.
I do not htink it is classless as some of them seem to think it is. I think that every player in the kings room needs to beleive they are better than their opposition.
I do however think that it was a dumb thing to say as it could get the ducks players pumpt up.
With all that being said it is entertaining and therefore I still love it.

They'll never have bragging rights. Their miniature fan base will always be stuck inside Orange County. But the Kings even have player appearances in Orange County.
And Doughty is right. We should be better than the Ducks. The Ducks have been nothing but overachievers this year.
