I don't think Brouwer is wrong, but let's face it the Caps were doing well under Boudreau. Until they got beat by the Habs but still...they were flying out there.

If only the Caps had a coach that was making them accountable yet still keep a offensive system going. I think Keenan would let AO fly.

And the caps started the season with a new coach and a new system without the benefit of a training camp but zomg they suck so much. Small sample sizes... hf boards loves them.

As far as Troy Brouwer goes, why should anybody care what he says? What right has he earned to talk smack about anybody?
Carolina has a lot of injury prone players on their team, its no shock that they have a lot of injuries. They look awful tonight, no matter how many players they are missing. If it wasn't for Cam Ward this game could be 10-0.

So did the Hurricanes, for all intents and purposes. Muller came in mid-stream to finish last season.

If not for Cam Ward this would be ugly for the canes. Well so much for all this bulletin board material. Caps are dominating down low.

When you've paid a guy $30m to show up one out of every three nights and pass on the playoffs, you'll understand. If it wasn't for Jagr, or Tocchet, I'd say he put in the least amount of effort I've ever seen in a Washington uniform.

Thanks Troy, better back up your words.

Can't speak to the Canes, but this is far and away the best game the Caps have played this season.

As I said earlier in this thread Caps may not make the playoffs but they will finish higher than Carolina. Every game you can see them putting it together a little more. May be too late but still.....

The Caps are essentially where the Devils were the season before last. Implementing this system took time, and it resulted in poor early season results. THe Devils tore it up the second half of the season, but still missed the playoffs. That seems to be the path the Caps are headed down this year.

as I said, classless. And the effort talk is a pile of BS. I know the guy, I know how he plays. Be happy with your Brouwers. But can they play hockey?

So typical. It's one game. Last time I checked the Cpas were still scratching the bottom of the standings.

You know the guy? Personally?

Us Caps fans have seen 400+ games of Sasha in a Caps uniform. We know him pretty good too. Outstanding talent with a consistency problem. And he looked like the same old Sasha tonight.

No, what is classless is the lies and BS the Caps put up with Semin for 8 years. The mental no-shows, the physical no-shows, the multiple times he cost us playoff series, the lies, all that crap.

Tonight was clearly a big game for Alexander Semin, and he brought his best big game performance: 0g, 0a, 0pts and only -1.

Lol.. Ovetshkin is molding to become a Kovalchuk 2.0. Creating plays, playing defence, helping the breakout and even playing the 4 minute on PP. While only got 1 point he played a great game and was best caps on ice after Erskine.

More like 2 solid games in a row. 2 solid games that seem to point to the Caps embracing Oates system. Could be a sign of a push to get out of the basement. Regardless, its one game, but its one game the Caps completely dominated the Canes in every way. We'll see how things shake out when the season is over.

Semin trying hard was obvious, but from the other Canes players all I can remember is Ward saving their faces to some extent and Wallace with a dirty boarding.

My guess is his statement isn't simply based on one game, though the Caps thoroughly dominated and Semin was invisible besides on break.

I personally wouldn't have boo'd Semin, but I can understand why some fans might.

17 games into a new coach, new system with little preparation, and a new roster.

You haven't even seen our final form yet. Brooks Liach is still out, Wolski is still playing.

With that said, booing Semin is lame. It's not like he pulled a demanded to be traded, or refused to sign; GMGM just let him go.

Brouwer has 12 points in 17 games, isn't that basically the same as Semin? Then add in intangibles like hitting, defensive play, etc. and a much cheaper contract...
