Clowe aggravated shoulder problem last night. Status uncertain for #SJSharks vs ANA.

Stock up on first and second round picks please, not more terrible bottom-6 players.

Short season + deep draft = perfect storm

Another non-surprise: McLellan says there will be lineup changes for #SJSharks tomorrow night vs. ANA. Not all sorted out just yet.

I bet Stalock gets the start. Lines will be a complete mish-mash. Go Sharks I guess.

I hope Stalock gets the start.

On defense I hope they bench Murray and start Demers.

On offense I would like for them to start Galiardi and Havlat (if he is back to full strength). Bench or send Kennedy back to Worcester.

Do I see all that happening? Hell no.

That's my guess.

The most hilarious thing about this Clowe injury is that the org will probably just think "he'll get back to normal after he heals, have a 5 year X $5M contract!"

If anything it shows that hes put alot of hard miles on his body with his play style. I wonder what the line up will look like tomorrow...

If Havlat is good to go, I'd run it like this...

Couture-Thornton-Burns
Galiardi-Marleau-Havlat
Sheppard-Pavelski-Wingels
Kennedy-Desjardins-Burish

Irwin-Boyle
Stuart-Demers
Vlasic-Braun

Stalock in net. The last thing a coach needs to do is provide an atmosphere where the young players are yanked after a bad game yet the vets are given passes galore. Murray may have been better than Braun or even Vlasic but he still wasn't good and he's had a longer term of suck this year than either. It's high time he be benched.

I like that third line. Wingels is much better than Mitchell and Sheppard is a more physical Wellwood. Pavelski has been disappointing this year and could benefit from facing weaker competition.
The first line is elite, but the second line is concerning. In theory it could work, but it's still a huge question mark. Besides, TMac would never dress Galiardi let alone put him in the top 6.

I also don't want Kennedy in the lineup at all. Heck, I don't even want him as a 13th forward. He doesn't play a bottom-6 game and he's too weak on the puck to contribute to the top-6. Send him down to the AHL and bring him up only if we're extremely injured. Handzus would be better than he is in that spot, and that's saying something. Either that or put Wingels there and slot Gomez on the third line.

Switch Braun and Demers, and I like it PF. Actually Handzus has been decent lately, so I'd still have him in over Kennedy.

I agree with the defense. Kennedy is completely useless on the 4th line. He only gets chances when he plays with skill guys but if you swap him on the 2nd with Gali..that means Marleau has to do all the work. I'd roll with..

Couture-Thornton-Burns
Wingels-Marleau-Havlat
Gali-Pavelski-Sheppard
Desi-Zus-Burish.

I think Wingels is a better forechecker and can retrieve pucks better than Gali and definetly better than Kennedy.

Stuart - Demers would be a good pair because they both have a physical aspect to their game, but I can see why you'd want to switch Demers with Braun. Vlasic - Braun pair has no chemistry right now and is soft as melted butter. Vlasic - Demers showed flashes of chemistry two years ago and could be dynamic if everything goes right.

I know. It would involve using the depth players in positions where they are protected and they compliment other players with their strengths rather than just throwing a line together and hoping it sticks.

There's also the reality that McLellan seems to resist the idea of putting Pavelski or anyone other than Havlat or Clowe onto the third line.

I threw Galiardi in that line because I felt his skill set would benefit Marleau and Havlat better than most other options. He would be an effective F1/first fore-checker type guy and that would slide Havlat to F2 and Marleau to F3 which are positions both guys are better fits for.

This is why I've felt like they have the talent to do damage but they're handicapping themselves by keeping their slow players in and refusing to spread out the talent to three scoring lines which is what their roster is best suited for to go along with a conservative breakout. They have enough speed to stretch the ice if it's spread out properly.
