26 shots - all score from deflections.
Garrison with 10 own goals.

Lessons learned - play defence and hope for offence.
Not the other way around
I think they should pull the goalies after 10 rounds on the shoot out.

still not a big fan of these D-pairings.
I think Garrison with Edler doesn't work as a D pairing

Well the one thing you can bank on is that the pairings won't last, so you don't have to sweat them too much.

Can't believe Matt missed this since he has given up the NHL to persue his law career.

Hope this team can show some character against the Coyotes after getting blown out, if not...

Full effort would be nice too, or am I asking too much?

Could see this game going either way, first game back after a road trip can sometimes mean a letdown for the home team. Hopefully after the massacre against the Wings, this isn't an issue.

The only thing you can bank on tonight is that if the Coyotes score a goal, the GDT will be full of critical posts from Y2K and the other Luongo fan boys criticizing Schneider.

If the Schneider fanboys didn't dump on Luongo so much maybe the Luongo fan boys wouldn't feel the need to dump on Schneider.

How about nobody dumps on either goalie and nobody brings up threads calling people fanboys either.

Over/under on number of posters calling for AV's head if we go down by one at any point in the game? Wish we could bet vCash on this kind of stuff.

NHL.com had the following
http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?...d=nhl:topheads

"His teammates are hoping to bounce back from a defensive effort that would be enough to make most goalies nauseous. A sick Schneider watched from the bench as Roberto Luongo was torched during an 8-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday."

that might be why Luongo wasn't pulled (guessing it was true and the 1st sentence was a joke). Anyone got the details?

Not much in terms of details, but 1040 mentioned during the Detroit pre-game that Schneider left the ice very quickly after the morning skate (or was it warm-ups? I can't remember). They speculated it was stomach flu or something along those lines.

Wow that is a world class dive. Perfect timing on the fall, great reaction, perfect grimace on his face.

Hmmm we were speculating that the flu was going through the team in the Detroit game. But that was more looking for an excuse to the beating we took. Good to know that might have been the case

I'm reminded of the sickness rumours which quietly flew around during the Chicago series in 2011.

Could have explained their meltdowns in Games Four and Five.

Could be but I also thought it was during that series that Henrik got hurt because he disappeared around the time Bolland reappeared from his concussion. Hurt back + Bolland would explain it.

I can see a game that is something like 4-1 or something for the Canucks.

Boy, am I happy that we didn't sign Doan to that rumored 3 year, ~$5 mil per year contract in the off-season.

I would have loved him on the Canucks, but not at $5 mil per year. His age has caught up to him.
