Wait...people hate the Wild? And North Dakota gets ignored? Okay.
If I ran that segment, I'd talk about how North Dakota and Minnesota State playing each other is mutual assured destruction compared to the schedules of Minnesota, St. Cloud State and UNO. Just me though.
I was only being half serious, but I do think that more teams should be mentioned when talking about hockey. The segment, IIRC, talked about how Minnesota could potentially(and will probably) sweep the weekend and then go on to go 4-0, while St. Cloud will likely go 3-1, but St Cloud has the tie-breaker, I think he said? The only other teams mentioned were Wisconsin and Michigan, whom one of the teams plays in the next few weeks. I can't recall schedules off hand and can't remember which Shows how much I paid attention.
But my original point was that Whenever college stuff is brought up anywhere in Minnesota, be it the radio, television, papers, whatever, it's like 90% Gophers. St Cloud is fantastic yet doesn't get half the attention. Mankato has pulled their stuff around drastically, and I could be wrong, as I don't pay a whole lot of attention to college hockey, they rarely get mentioned in anything at all.
Hell, people barely know Bemidji exists, let alone plays competitively against powerhouse teams like Minnesota, St Cloud, and UND.
Sioux do get ignored a bit, and I would like to see them talked about more(obviously), but I'd like to see more balance in covering other Minnesota teams even more. That's just me though.
