Bolland would have to be moved. You get a really good 4th line centre and a 1st round pick, which in Toronto could be anywhere from 10th-20th.
The thing that I know alot of people will criticize is signing Steve Mason. He's not a great goaltender, but in Chicago I think he could thrive playing 20-30 games behind Crow. He's not as bad as he's been over the past couple seasons and getting out of Columbus, I think, would do wonders for him. Trading for Bobrovsky and with their goaltending pipeline, I don't think Columbus would have a problem trading his RFA rights in the summer, if they even qualify him. Helps that they're going East, too.
I can't see TO trading that much for Bolland either.
Otherwise, I don't mind those moves
They get an upgrade in a position of weakness and give up a 1st to make up the difference. They also get a local boy and the media in Toronto would love his playoff pedigree, as would Toronto's brass, I would think.
If Toronto feels they're capable of making a decent run next year, I think they'd do it. Chicago has to get, at least, a 1st round pick for Bolland if they go out and sign someone like Filppula, Roy or Weiss in the off-season (should they become UFAs).
I would think TO would rather pick up a C in free agency than give up their depth Cman and a 1st for Bolly. They are still a team building for the future.
And I think I would rather see Chicago keep Bolland and maybe sign Bozak, who is amazing on faceoffs and won't cost as much as Filppula.

Bozak's not going to be cheap on the open market, and I wouldn't be as comfortable giving him a 3-5 year deal as I would Weiss or Filppula.
I'd prefer to keep Bolland too.. but it's just not possible if CHI goes out and gets a quality #2 centre.
Asked a Redwings' fan about that the other day.. apparently he's had more success at LW, but he prefers centre. Between Hossa and Sharp, he'd be great.
I've been a big Bolland supporter over the years, but I think the injuries have taken their toll on him a bit. He, in my eyes, is not the shutdown defensive center he once was. I could easily see Kruger replacing him their and I think we could get pretty good value on the market for him. Question is, what would that do to the locker room? That would be my biggest concern.
I'll be surprised if Stalberg is here after the trade deadline. They're not going to resign him.
why trade him with his cheap contract he outplays and offers nice depth?
Losing Players for free is not the end of the world and it's not like it's in soccer when you would get money for him before he leaves.

that'd be a dream offseason. I would upgrade Stanton with a Free Agent or just keep Rozi.

Because everyline has a different player on it.
Line 2 - Filppula is new
Line 3 - Danault with Kruger and Shaw (who haven't played together)
Line 4 - none of them have played together.
I'm not worried about Line 2 in this case, but the bottom 6 would need to get famaliar with each other...good thing it will be an 82 game season though.

I don't necessarily believe that, its just if you want to upgrade to a true #2 center, Bolland is going to have to be moved for it to work. Unless someone like Danault, McNeil, or K Hayes comes in next year and lights it up as a #2 center (which is like 99% not happening) a #2 center is going to cost some coin.

Probably, but the point is Leddy is going to continue to get better; he likely won't be a top-pairing guy, but a very good #3 and Chicago has young players that can come in a be quality #3 centres immediately (Kruger, Shaw) or within two years (Danault, McNeill).
You could let Leddy go and bring up Clendening.. except, with the way he plays, he could put up 30+ points in his rookie season on Chicago's top PP unit and then, in a year, you'd have to extend him.
I'm very much in the 'Keep Bolland' group.. but if it's between Leddy + a #2C or Bolland + Leddy, I'd choose the former.

I don't want them to rely on a bunch of skaters with less than 100 games next year. 8 nhl defensemen is a must, and that should be addressed right after extending Leddy.

Each team has 2 compliance buyouts. If you don't use it this summer (2013), you have to use it next summer or they'll expire (essentially). If Montador and Olesz are both healthy, they'll both be compliance boughtout. The only way Montador isn't bought out is if, for some reason, a team wants to trade for him.. but, given his concussion history, that would likely scare away teams looking to get to the cap floor because it serves them no good to have Montador on LTIR.
