Evander Kane

Sick snipe, and an assist so far tonite against the Rangers, he now has 17 points in 19 games, and has at least a point in 16 of Winnipeg's 19 games. All of this while playing predominantly with Burmistrov (great young player, but 6 pts on the year) and Antropov (6 pts).

He's even in plus minus on a net minus team, and has taken on a big role on the PK of late.

He gets a lot of crap for his off ice antics, but the kid is bringing it on ice this year.

Great to see him putting up numbers.

I don't know why I hate him, but I do. I don't want to hate him, I'd love to be a fan but I just can't not hate him. It's a real dilemma.

Dude is a stud. Both him and Ladd have stepped it up this year.

He actually looks pretty good on the penalty kill. Causes alot of problems with his speed on the forecheck.

It's nice to see him playing well and shutting people up (myself included). You don't necessarily have to appreciate him as a person, but as a player he's a fun guy to cheer for.

Personally, I think his game deserves way more attention.

Like his game. Lame as a person, but a great hockey player. Very nice shot tonight.

That shot was insane. You don't often beat a goalie like Lundqvist that cleanly.

no idea why this kid doesn't get more good press.

Age 18: 66gms, 14gls, 26pts (82gms, 17gls, 32pts)
Age 19: 73gms, 19gls, 43pts (82gms, 21gls, 48pts)
Age 20: 74gms, 30gls, 57pts (82gms, 33gls, 63pts)
Age 21: 19gms, 9gls, 18pts (82gms, 39gls, 78pts)

He hits, fights, skates, snipes.....and he produces at a great level for his age despite very, very little support from his teammates.

He's an absolute stud. So many less impressive young players get so much more good press than this guy, when there's no chance I'd take them over Kane.

This kid should be a shoo-in for Team Canada, ahead of a whole bunch of weenies who keep getting mentioned instead.

2 goals, 1 assist and easily the best player on the ice tonight. Also on the PK and out there in the last minute with the Rangers pulling their goalie. 1st star by a mile.

For comparison sake, a guy like Rick Nash had a comparable ppg rate at 21.
It's early though. Let's see him keep it up.

Nash doesn't fight much but he absolutely hits and PK's.

Anyway, Kane was tremendous tonight, despite the fact that Failqvist pretty much giftwrapped the 2nd goal.
