Check the college hockey forum.

Lots, one I like is Dave McKee from Cornell, he's a big time goalie from Texas.

Cornell's goaltender David McKee whose stats say he has 10-shutouts, .947-save percentage and 1.20-goals-against-average......Hamilton Spectator has a nice little article of David McKee whose a native of Irving Texas and the article states that he has just broken Cornell alumni Ken Dryden's record of most shutouts in career season with "13"...

David McKee posted 10-shutouts this season....the 13 was his total for the past 2-seasons......Cornell has just reached the Frozen Four in the NCAA......McKee grew up wanting to be a baseball player but then one time his dad took him to a Dallas Stars game where he saw Andy Moog play in Net for the Stars.......he says that he didn't really get the bug for hockey until the second game he went to....he goes on to add that he's always been the type of guy that's liked things being thrown at him....Football was out of the question for him because of his size 6-foot-1 and 180-pounds.....says he's always wanted to be a catcher in baseball.....when he first got started with playing ice hockey it wasn't a well known sport in the Dallas-area where there was probably only two ice rinks in the entire state NOW however he says there's literally DOZENS in the Dallas-Fort Worth region alone....the sport is now BOOMING in Texas.......

David McKee is also one of the 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker award....last season he gave up a few "soft goals" but has really made a remarkable improvement in that area in 1 short year.....he says alot of that has to do with Cornell playing a smothering team defence and he says that he is the type of goalie that has to be "involved" in the game in order to be sharp....he was use to facing 40-to-50 shots a game before joining Cornell...but now he is able to stay sharp and focused throughout the entire game even if he's not facing alot of shots on Net.

I can give you all a whole list of them, depending upon what type of player (and position) would be helpful. The Leafs already bagged one of the best available in Colin Murphy. I have to tell you all though (and I believe I already mentioned this). Murphy is not likely to score 50 goals, but he's a wonderful passer who can set up wingers very well.

Monkey: some of those players you've listed are already NHL property or have already signed with a minor pro team, dear.

Speaking of the Hobby ..

Our new prospect Colin Murphy is the official winner of this Hobey Baker as best College player ..

Murphy Wins 2005 Vote for Hobey
MINNEAPOLIS Michigan Tech senior forward Colin Murphy finished first in the Final Voting phase of 2005 Vote for Hobey, the online fan vote for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award. Final Voting totals are factored, along with the votes of a 25-person selection committee, to determine the winner of the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

Derek Nesbitt just signed with Bossier-Shreveport (Central Hockey League)

Matsumoto, Burton and Stastny are all draft eligible (if there is [by chance] a draft)
I guess the link I was given over at the College Hockey Forum was a bit out-dated cause they had in brackets the names of players that were NHL property but the names you've just pointed out for us were not (at that web site) listed as NHL property

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t...3&page=1&pp=10

When you get to this link they have a listing of the teams in the NCAA hockey tournament.....when you click on the individual teams roster listing they give you the list of players and in brackets they have the name of the NHL clubs beside the players that have been drafted......the site is not up-to-date.

To which were you referring to?

Monkey: Sorry. I call everyone "dear" not just you.

96? Wow, if I'm that old I'm hiding the gray hairs and wrinkles awfully well.

I get this feeling that whenever someone calls me a dear they are about ready to hand me over some milk and cookies that's all.

I posted up a similar list to this one over on the College Hockey Forum and some of the players I listed over there (which I didn't include here in the Leafs Forum) are NHL property so that web site says by placing names of NHL teams beside the college players that have been drafted........the names you supplied us with...

Patrick Eaves is Sens property
Brian Boyle is Kings property
Matti Kaltiainen is Bruins property
Cory Schneider is Canucks property
Lee Stempniak is Blues property
Grant Lewis is Thrashers property
Jimmy Howard is Red Wings property

...were not listed as NHL property on this web site:

That's odd because usually those guys are up to date on that stuff over there at InCH. I'll have to give them a heads up on that one.

Let me give you some more UNDRAFTED to consider that I've seen and think pretty highly of (and BTW not all of these players are seniors and I'm not including draft eligibles, should by some miracle the NHL actually will have one this year)

[In no particular order]

Reid Cashman (Quinnipiac)
Brendan Bernakevitch (Harvard)
Bryan Schmidt (Merrimack)
Pat Bateman and Toumas Tarkki (Northern Michigan)
Curtis Fraser (Alaska-Fairbanks)
Dustin Sproat and Seamus Young (Princeton)
Bryan Miller (Boston University)
Derek Damon (Maine)
Brent Walton (Western Michigan)
Jason Guerriero (Northeastern)
Jason Bloomingburg (Wayne State)
Kyle Peto (Minnesota State-Mankato)
Barret Ehgoetz (Niagara)
Colby Genoway (North Dakota)
T. J. Trevelyan (St. Lawrence)
Preston Callender and Brian Yandle (New Hamsphire)

He's already played two games for them. No points yet but he did get into a scrap.

I guess it's safe to say there are no Adam Oates or Martin St.Louis
