I thought there already was a no-flipping rule--you can't deal a guy for a year after acquiring / signing him.

Am I confused?

I'm not using him as a bargaining chip...I have too many assets

I don't need to trade him just out of everyone he fell out

Also, looks like with NYR getting a GM, Callahan may have to go back.

Only problem is the Rangers don't have the cap space to acquire him.

Well doesn't that mean that Datsyuk will have to come back to Detroit?

I would gladly welcome that, but wont that get a bit messy? Voiding the CGY/DET trade then trying to clear cap from NYR to try to get Callahan back, and then trading Datsyuk to DET?

The bigger problem is if you want Datsyuk we have to have someone join the Carolina GM to get him back to you.

So I don't know what to do about that.

Ahhh I see. Its actually Boston who has Datsyuk, which someone just requested.

But the most simple way would seem like just to keep things as is with this CGY/DET trade, keep Datysuk in Boston and let NYR resume with the roster they have.

NYR currently only has 0.300m in cap space with Kreider sitting on the UFA list and no room to sign him.

Thats a lot of overhaul for a new Rangers GM to do to get both Kreider and Callahan on the books.

You must be ripping your hair out. lol

But if you dont want to make an effort to try to get Callahan back to NYR, then I have absolutely no issue voiding this CGY/DET trade and trying to get things in line!

I say let the new NYR GM trade Cam Ward (the backup goalie?) to CAR for a 7th, and then use the cap space to sign C. Kreider.

Let everything else stand as is.

Did the NYR CPU really sign Cam Ward with Lundqvist and Harding under contract? lol

But yeah, that does make some sense.

Take 7m off the books, and gives them that much to sign Kreider.

Worse, it signed Ward and Lundquist during the same re-sign window.

How's it going, I'll be taking over the Rangers (I know, ironic)

Kreider and Callahan are def 2 pieces I'd definitely want to have and would have made it priorities to keep them on the roster. I'm sure I can figure something out to make this work

Yea not sure why I need 3 goalies haha.

I'm at work and bored as heck. Any chance someone wouldn't mind posting the NYR current roster and contracts so I can see what I'm working with and can find what the quickest route would be to fix this mess.

That's everyone over 77-there are a bunch of depth guys too, particularly on defense, where it seems that you could field two teams...

Greatly appreciated. Good God, is that Douglas Murray? He needs to be off my roster, can't stand to see him score any more garbage goals against my Islanders lol

taking offers on Seth Jones.

Hoping to package with Hemsky, Ryder, Malone or Desharnais and looking for an older game breaking forward and a decent LHD prospect.
