Fisher, while good defensively, has been an offensive disappointment for me, scoring 21 points over his last 99 games while playing on the 2nd and 3rd lines. My 2nd line as a whole has been struggling this season, so Hemsky should help out that cause with his elite playmaking. Hickey was good for me last year, but with the signing of Michalek and the emergence of Donovan on the top pairing, he had become expendable and often was out of the lineup. Ellis will provide me with a prospect to develop on D over the coming years.
I needed to improve the physical presence of my top 6 as well as add a better faceoff man, Fisher is exactly that (he has surprisingly good offensive stats in game, skating is almost equal to Hemsky's, and he's not made out of glass!) With Vanek, Eller, Ennis, Lecavalier and Pacioretty, I have enough skill in my top 6 to compensate for losing Ales.
Also needed to improve my defence in the present, I have an abundance of good D prospects. Hickey should fill out my top 6 very nicely.
