He's rounding out his game. Forget his draft hype. He's still a solid prospect who can be eased into a lineup like LA's.

Let just say that after their draft year, if not chosen by us, and ends up playing in the NCAA for other teams than Michigan or Notre-Dame...they are not my favorites anymore....

I usually also happen to follow most prospects that plays on the team of some of our prospects, yet, I didn't watch North Dakota that much this year if any. Just watched 2 games. And didn't even saw that much Forbort. Based on stats....I do have to say I was expecting MUCH MUCH more. We'll have to wait and see how he adapts his game to the Pros. Might just explode while face with a tougher opposition....or just fades away. But honestly, it will be one of the biggest surprise ever for me if he ends up busting. I do have to say that maybe his most dissapointing trait, aside from the lack of offensive game, is his inability to understand the body he's in and be more physical with it.

I would guess that i'm the biggest fan of Didier around here. He hasn't shown much in the way of offense but really excells on the PK and knows how to use his large frame. He moves well for a big kid and it's going to be interesting to see how much bigger he gets since he was a true Freshman last year so he's still very young. Next year will be telling since he'll be an upperclassmen and should see a bigger role for sure.

I haven't been impressed with him, seen a lot of him but he rarely stands out.

I don't really care for Merrill, the issues he's had off ice plus he hasn't been overly impressive at Michigan from what i've seen. If we are talking about other teams draft picks that look good at Michigan, Trouba has been impressive and I like Alex Guptill although he needs to get quicker imo.

What are those 2 games left to play on UND schedule?

I thought there was only the Frozen Four left for us (supposing they make it)

North Dakota is in the Frozen Four tournament, they face Niagara on Friday night, win and they advance, lose and their season is over.

Contract talks for Kristo between MB and his family ''adviser'' under way according to SRC:

http://www.radio-canada.ca/sports/ho...-contrat.shtml

Quote:
Kristo also quoted as saying it would be incredible to play in Montreal.

It has not been narrowed down to 4 teams yet. There are 16 teams that are still alive. After this weekend, only 4 will be left.

The Frozen Four starts on April 11th. The champion will be decided on April 13th.

Is there anywhere we can see the 16 team "brackets". Any of our other prospects playing?

Well UND should be considered favorite against Niagara(brackets) on the 29th.
Minnesota should also win against Yale same day.

Then Minnesota and UND against each other on 30th.
Both won two games against each other.

So either Kristo would come with the Dogs around April 1st or around April 15th.

Edit: Thanks to Marc for the reference.

- For the first time, I hope that Kristo's team lose their next game
- I think Kristo may bring the same contribution to Habs as Galchenyuk and Gallagher now.
- When leaving their respective Jr Leagues, Kristo is as good as Galchenyuk and Gallagher (relative to their League).
- Kristo is 2 years older than Gallagher, 4 years older than Galchenyuk. So he may be physically better, and more experienced than when Gally leave Jr.

I agree. From an ND game I saw recently, he is at a stage in his development where he can contribute right now. However, it does mean he will contribute the way Gally's were able to do. We see some high-profile rookies such as Granlund (Min), Baertchi (Calgary), Etem (Ana) and Coyle (Min) have strugled to produce right away. And Kreider's troubles this season are well documented despite impressive debut late last season directly from NCAA. But considering his level of talent and an advanced stage in his developemnt, Kristo should at least be given a chance to show his stuff and it would be also be an investment in his developement as is presently the case with Tinordi.

So, the Blades are already trailling 0-2 into their series?

Can't beleive they haven't made a coaching change this season.

As far as the Frozen Four are concerned, my bets would be (and I usually suck at this so take the other teams and you'll win big).

Quinnipiac wins against Canisius
Boston College (and Colin Sullivan) wins against Union
Minnesota Stats wins against Miami (that will be a close one)
Notre Dame wins against St.Cloud
Wisconsin wins against UMassLowell
New Hampshire wins against Denver (toughest game of them all)
North Dakota wins against Niagara
Minnesota wins against Yale

Then...
BC wins against Quinnipiac
Notre Dame wins against Minny State
Wisconsin wins against New Hampshire
Minnesota wins against North Dakota

Then...
Notre-Dame wins against BC
Minnesota wins against Wisconsin

Then..

Minnesota wins against Notre-Dame...unfortunately.

I just don't see how this all-star team in Minny doesn't win it all. I go with Wisconsin and BC as somewhat of surprised picks to go further than anticipated. Funnier to go for the longshots and the sure bets though.....I stick with Minny till the end.

So Kristo will join the Dogs after game 2 FOR SURE. Didier's team might beat NH and go far based on the brackets. I do believe that Sullivan's team, Boston College will also go further.

Again.....if you want to bet.....go totally different than me...you'll win big. Note though that there are quite a few goalies in the NCAA playing in that tournament that we should be looking at...Eric Hartzell is one of them.

So JT Compher,Evan Allen and Connor Hurley would be acceptable draftees then?

I know I keep asking the same question. But I'm really interested
in how much ice-time Didier and Sullivan are getting. If Sullivan is getting
any time on a strong team as a freshmen, especially in the play-offs,
I think that's impressive.

Yeah. They had an awful first half and then got it together later on, including an 18 game win streak. Right now there back to first half from as they can't put together a full 60.

Didier has spent the year on the third pairing. Usually with Joey LaLeggia, an undersized offensive defenceman, so they compliment each other quite well. I'm a huge fan of Didier, he's incredible on the penalty kill. I think he's got a bit of untapped offensive potential too.

Sullivan has been on the third pairing as well, but he gets sheltered minutes. I know it's his freshman season, but I was expecting more than one point. Especially because of how poor his defensive game is.

2 goals for Hudon already. 3-3 in Chicoutimi.

Archambault with a goal and an assist as his team is up 6-2.

Good to hear, if his season were to end this weekend then perhaps they can get it done quickly and he could get a few games in as a pro. Couldn't hurt the Dogs and it would give him an idea of what to expect for next season.

I'd be shocked if the Habs did this, it would be a lot of fun for me since i've been watching him since his USHL days but with the Habs needing every point if they want to secure home ice, not sure they would consider it. I wouldn't rush him as the games mean so much that a simple mistake at home will likely not go over too well. I'd rather see him go to Hamilton or sign him for next season since it's a 2 year deal, don't want to use the first year in the NHL for a game or two because that would mean he'd be an RFA after next season.

I think that if Kristo were to play in the NHL, say the following weekend, he shouldn't have any problems keeping up with the play since his speed/skating are top notch. But in his own end i'd be more concerned as he will get out muscled from time to time. So adding his speed and offense would be fun to see but not sure I would want to risk it.

Might as well root for North Dakota to win on Friday cause the stand a very good chance of doing so (although I have had my doubts about the goaltending this season). Plus if UND and Minn both advance, it should make for a great hockey game to watch on Saturday afternoon.

Some interesting picks. I just want to see all 3 of UND, DU and BC make the Frozen Four. A BC/UND or BC/DU final would be excellent to see.

I think the BC/Union game should be a good one but I think BC can pull it out (although they got blasted by BU last weekend).

I'll go with Miami, SCSU, Quinn, UMass Lowell, DU, UND, Minn.

Then Quinn over BC, SCCU over Miami, UND over Minn and DU over UMass Lowell

Then SCSU over Quinn, DU over UND (sorry but big fan of DU's goalie)

Then DU over SCSU

Didier while the stats don't show it, is an impact player on his team. He doesn't get PP time but is a regular on the PK and since his team was the top scoring among defensemen in the NCAA, they need him for his shutdown role, physical game, and shot blocking. He is a steady influnce back there for a team that has several offensive minded D's. His coach spoke highly about him when he was out to injury and how badly they played without him.

Sullivan gets very sheltered minutes at BC but still it was good to see him get in just about every game. They really limited his ice time though, not sure what his average was on the season but I'd be surprised if it was anywhere near 10 minutes a game. When he did play, I thought he kept it simple for the most part, and threw some decent hits. He's filled out his frame from when I saw him in the USHS with Avalon, then he was flying all over the ice as he's a great skater. He looks much thicker but didn't do much with the puck when he had it.
