I'd be so stoked if it was Jensen. Wouldn't put it past MG to throw such a curveball.

Doesn't it seem every time something like this happens we set ourselves up for complete disappointment? lol.

There's no cost to bringing back Jensen except keeping Volpatti over Barker was preferable - team lacks sandpaper and if nothing else, Volpatti brought that. Plus any Dman can be called up.

For all we know it could be simply reactivating Manny Malhotra... cause we know he can get goals.

I don't know what to think anymore. Gillis has done so many questionable moves these past 2 years.

Also... I thought Volpatti had more skill and grit than Weise ever did. Oh well.

Maybe this is the player move MG was referring to when asked about Luongo...

Stoked for Pinizzotto

Now just dump Lappy for Boyle and that fourth line's not looking half bad

Hopefully hehe. This team needs a shakeup and a Luongo deal would really change things.

I'm not.

The guy hasn't played a game since what... November?

Gillis playing him with the club right after injury with no game time in the AHL is just pure lunacy. But I won't be surprised.

I like pinnizotto, and has classic late bloomer all over him. But the guy has played no games... So odd...

Is this the part where Gillis goes out and acquires Alex Ovechkin without taking on his full cap hit?

I think it's sounding more and more likely that it's Pinnizotto unfortunately. Nothing against the guy, but we need bigger changes than a tweak to our 4th line.

This isn't the AHL. They don't have any power over Jensen right now. None. The release would have to be mutual and I don't see AIK doing that when they're in the playoff hunt.

Gilman said they aren't bringing any one up.

Where is this "more and more likely that it's Pinizotto" coming from?

We know Bob Mackenzie has no clue about the canucks, and we also know Pinner hasn't played in months.

Hopefully this is not the case.

In all honesty... I don't think Pizonitto is an improvement at all to Volpatti.

Edit: Yep looking at Bob Mckenzie's tweets it is Steve Pinnizotto.... if this is the best move Gillis can do

Our fourth line was never the problem.

You don't waive a guy that's 50/50 to get claimed so you can activate a guy who you're going to send for a conditioning stint. You could just as well send Schroeder down, then activate and send down Pinner, bring Schroeder back up. You don't lose anyone to the waivers and don't have to wait for anyone to clear.

Yes, it is quite puzzling. There has not even been any indication that Pinner is ready to play. If we had any solid journalists in Vancouver maybe one of them could call the Wolves and check on his status. But I suppose that is too much to ask. But I agree, it seems ridiculous to risk losing Volpatti over it even if Pinner is ready, and the "Volpatti needs more icetime" quote from Gilman really does not hold water at all for the same reason.

Dumb move imo.Just what we dont need to be getting rid of is grit.Volpatti will get picked up.Would not suprise me if GMMG brings back a Jan Bulis, this seems to be the trend of the week.

Once again we're here again. You know what after wanting Vigneault's head for more than half a decade, I could care less anymore... Just get rid of him. I'm not going to post swear words or rage, but just get rid of him. We could ramble all night saying "But who can replace him", Vigneault has PRESIDENT CUPS, Vigneault is not at fault, but all that discussion has been done... I can't believe I'm still thinking and saying the same crap I said 3-5 years ago, you look at these past threads WE CAME FULL CIRCLE LADS. We just came full circle.... Who's responsible? VIGNEAULT and AND GILLIS!!! FIRE THEM BOTH I SAY! FIRE THEM BOTH!

MIKE GILLIS AND ALAIN VIGNEAULT BOTH NEED TO GO!!!! FIRE THEM!!! !@!&(*^@!*^)!@!

Grub - What is with the Volpatti obsession, he's a marginal NHLer AT BEST.

Doesn't do anything besides scrap (marginally) better than Weise. At least Pinner and Weise have a track record or being able to play the game.

For what they do, Brian McGrattan is just as desirable as Volpatti, same with Matt Kassian, neither guy has been claimed.

With Kesler's supposed injury, I think this is a precursor to a larger trade.
