Knock Weise if you want, but he's much better than anything else we have in depth for a Cup run if we suffer some forward injuries. Remember when it was Glass at his position in the depth chart?

While I agree with you on Weise, there was absolutely nothing wrong with Glass, he's a good 4th liner. The fact that he hasn't spent any time in the AHL over the past 4 seasons is testament to that, plus a prime contender like Pittsburgh is playing him every game while paying him 1.1mil per season. He's certainly on par with a guy like Weise despite some of our short term memories.

Disagree Glass is a bad 4th liner. He hits soft, isn't great defensively and is not good offensively.

The testament of Pittsburgh playing him means he has NHL an playoff experience above guys that Pittsburgh has in their system. Ask penguins fans yourself Glass is a terrible hitter and is a borderline NHL player much like when he played here.

Dale Wiese on the other hand looks like an impact player this year. He almost played himself to a full time AHL role last year and in the offseason dramatically increased his skating ability and has been good on the pk. He hits better than Glass, skates better than Glass, and finally he is an effective pker who makes less than Glass and has been a true important piece of our team.

I don't think people have short term memory loss in terms of Glass I think people analyze and critique information differently. And I would say if you think Glass is as effective as Wiese this year, your analyzation process is a bit off. Not to be offensive.

Not a big fan of Glass, but he gets a bad rap around here cause he was injured during the cup run. He is an ok player.

Glass is an OK player - agreed. Probably an average 4th liner.

Weise is much better currently, and more importantly, has the actual potential to be more than a 4th liner.

Yep. Weise looks better on the PK than Glass ever did.

yeah, i completely agree with this

Also anyone know anything on Roy's injury history? Apparently he's been battling shoulder problems this year? Didn't really notice anything last night but just read it on the Dallas board in the trade thread.
apparently he's only recently felt "100% healthy" in his own words. I remember reading a thing that he commented on the shoulder injury in the last month or so

he's fine defensively (for a 4th liner). he's pretty much a null spot - he's not going to make any good plays offensively and he's not going to make many bad plays defensively. you put him out there against other 4th lines when you dont want anyone killed and you don't want any events

not worth 1m but whatever. i'd still prefer weise in all ways

Fanner Glass

In all seriousness, he was a serviceable 4th liner

He had shoulder surgery just after being traded to Dallas in July. Makes sense that he wasn't 100% right away, but if he's feeling better, he's likely up to game speed and doing well now.

Raymond and Weise feel good just have to see how they react overnight. Kesler out with the flu and hopefully he plays next week along with Weise and Raymond.

Come on guys, we all know Kesler's just itching to get back into the line-up to make sure Roy doesn't completely steal his thunder.

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Higgins-Roy-Hansen
Raymond-Kesler-Kassian
Sestito-Lapierre-Pinnizzotto

Rest Kesler for the first game a bit and then premote him. Then switch Roys and Keslers line.

I'm not a big Weise fan, but he's miles ahead of some of the guys we've been putting out there in the bottom six.

Kesler should get at least 5 or 6 games in before playoffs.

Not knowing much about his injury, I still agree. Man, so many line combo options for AV with the addition of Roy. Finally a playmaker that will be able to work well with players like Raymond and Booth.
