Doubt Schneids is riding public transportation very much.

But what he is doing, along with Higgins (remember last year's staph infection), is spending an inordinate amount of time in the DTES.
You might be surprised who you can see hanging out in the alley behind the Carnegie at 3:15 AM on a Thursday morning.

Not good.

he hasn't scored in his last 11 games. Has 2 goals in last 15 (and 9 pts in last 15 games).

Tanev was spotted at City Square noonish yesterday wearing a cast boot. City Square is where the MRI clinic the Canucks use is located.

What if Flames1084 is actually Chris Higgins?

I hope not because Flames1084 has posted during a game at times.

Gillis was also pretty adamant today that Tanev would be back in time for the playoffs.

#Canucks Gillis on @team1040 this morning: 'Tanev still 10 days to 2 weeks'. So basically rest of regular season

I didn't get that impression at all. While he did say it looked like it would be 10 days to 2 weeks, he wasn't committal about that timeline at all.

Are you referring to his team 1040 interview from this morning or his cknw one from last night? Because the one last night Gillis explicitly said he expects him back for the playoffs.

You, like Schneider, most likely had "stomach flu" which isn't influenza.

Did your doctor take a swab, send it to a lab, and give you a positive test result? I'm guessing not and if so your self report is anecdotal. Unless you are a geriatric, an infant, or work somewhere that is high risk, your doctor would not get a sample and send it out for an expensive lab test. Generally, the only people that actually get swabbed and have their samples tested in a BC lab are people in nursing homes, cruise ships, etc. Your doctor might tell you that you have the flu to make you feel better but at best that report is merely referenced to local flu reports and it is more than likely incorrect. The flu is one of the two most commonly misdiagnosed conditions in medicine. Studies have show that only a small fraction of cases diagnosed as the flu test positive.

Actually, in most cases flu season is confined to the winter months. This year it peaked in December and January and since then it has declined rapidly. Last week there was a handful of positives in the entire province.

It was a regular old flu, sorry bud. I have a lower resiliency than most people. The Doctor took a swab, it was not a stomach flu.

Team 1040 this morning. While he sounded hopeful, he certainly didn't give the impression that it was a lock that he'd be back for the start of the playoffs.

This is one of the funniest things I've seen on HF in the past couple weeks! And this includes the trade deadline and Iggy choosing the Penguins.

Thank you silvercanuck, you made my day!

Hmm well if you're interested in the other interview go to the cknw audio vault and open up last nights 7:00pm program. The interview starts at 15 minutes.

Obviously you don't really know what I'm talking about. The general public does not understand the difference between influenza and the misnomer "stomach flu". The flu is also one of the most misdiagnosed conditions in medicine. I'm merely pointing this out because NHL teams very often mislead the public about players getting "the flu". I know for a fact that Schneider does not have influenza. If he did he would not be available tomorrow. That's good news.

I'm well aware of what influenza is....

And while I'm young and generally in shape, I'm no professional athlete and even I can occasionally get over it 48 hours. Not to mention Kesler had the flu a week ago (and take note, he played a couple days later) so it's not that hard to figure out how Schneider got it..

What are you classifying as "stomach flu"?

Actually, it called "noROYvirus", and the Canucks just recently cured themselves of that particular ailment.

That's a complicated way of saying the flu can be caught outside of the winter months.
