21 point lead at 1 point and now it's down to 2. LOL if this wasn't a pointless game I'd be pissed right now. But this is hilarious.

Brooklyn has far to much talent, It was safe to assume they were going to make a run.

It sucks because it's under terrible circumstances, but the Raps got a TNT game tomorrow night now! Weird lol

Too bad we probably won't get to see that in Canada. I would love to watch a Raptors game on TNT.

What's even more weird is that it's vs. Atlanta. A PO team but hardly a ratings draw like Miami, Boston, NY or LAL.

TSN site is making it sound like TSN2 will be broadcasting the TNT feed, not the usual Matt and Jack/Leo

Does Sportsnet have the rights to the game here in Canada?

TSN2 could be airing it part of the package of TNT games that they often air.

Y! Sources: In a surprise, Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart will bypass the NBA Draft and return for his sophomore year. http://*******.com/coc2e69

A likely top 3 pick in the draft chooses to go return for his sophomore season. I don't really get it. I mean, he would be getting a ton of guaranteed money for being selected in the top 3 and he is passing that up. Yeah, he will probably be in the draft after that but your draft stock could take a hit or you could get a serious injury.

Spurs signed TMac.

Visions of those 13 points he dropped on them in the last 30 or so seconds when he was with the Rockets is coming back to me.

Not to mention it's a weak draft year. Huge risk

oh well. It weakens the draft for the Thunder since it means one of the better players will go top 3 .

All in all, this was probably a good year for the Raptors to give up their draft pick. If they still had it, the kid they picked in the 7-10 range wouldn't be equal to Lowry.

The draft royally sucks anyway.

NBA Drafts have since the college rule was put in effect.

I don't think the college rule has anything to do with it. All it's done is stopped the flood of ineffective, not-ready-for-primetime HS players.

The issue with the NBA draft is the glut of kids that get bad advice and turn pro when they're not ready. Whether they're coming out of high school or after 1 year of college is irrelevant.

Finished 16-15 after the Gay trade. It is encouraging to see that him and Derozan can co-exist. We should fight for a playoff spot next year.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Bargnani in the off-season.

this is one of those drafts where it pays to have multiple mid-late picks. a ton of unknown gems late, kind of like the year where val was taking.

2011 - #15 kawhi leonard, #16 vucevic, #17 shumpert, #18Tobias Harris, #22 faried, #24 reggie jackson, #28 norris cole, #30 jimmy butler

Think that was a good year for our team regardless of missing the playoffs! As a poster above stated the 16-15 finish after the Gay trade is encouraging. Jonas Valanciunas was fantastic in the latter half of the season very happy with his progress as a young big man.

Hopefully next season works out and we crack a 6-7-8th position

the reason this happens is because going back to college may not improve your draft stock even if it does improve your game, such as noel. if he does decide to return to duke to develop a post game, weight, etc. would he really improve over his top 5/#1 stock.

but i do agree, some of these guys get bad advice from family/'agents', because all they want is money, and end up ruining their nba careers because they aren't ready i.e. austin rivers/cousins/MKG

I'm so glad we have Valanciunas, he gives me hope for the future. Without him I don't know if the team has any hope

I wasn't talking about guys like Smart at the top of the draft board. I was talking about guys who are late 1sts or 2nd rounders at best who give up the opportunity to improve in college or even use their education to set up a life after basketball. I've seen stories about guys who had family members and agents tell them to turn pro and sell them on the story of the NBA millionaire. Then they get drafted in teh 2nd round, get cut from their non-guaranteed contract, and end up either playing journeyman in the lower tier Euro leagues or out of basketball entirely with nothing to show for it.

Very encouraging performance down the stretch by the Raps. This team should definitely be able to compete for a 6th-8th seed in the East next season.

BC simply has to get rid of his biggest mistake in Bargs in the off season and add a quality backup PG. Maybe Calderon will be back.

Huh? The last few drafts have been good IMO, outside of 2011. This year though has been called the weakest draft since the Kenyon Martin first overall year (2001?). It was a good year to give up a late lottery pick.

Barely over .500 isn't anything to be excited about. I'll be frank, I don't put a lot of stock into these last 5 or 6 games. Playoff teams are resting their main guys, high lottery teams are tanking...teams have their foot off the pedals while the Raptors were playing to save jobs lol. Casey and BC look a lot more safe going 5-2 to end the season, which annoys me quite honestly. And Demar/Gay start hitting threes when all the pressure is off.

In an ideal offseason, Bryan and Casey would be let go of, Bargnani amnestied and we go from there. None of the above will probably happen. Do we still have a draft pick at all this year from the Telfair trade? (i recall some conditions on it). Finishing out of the playoffs with no picks at all would suck.

Gay
Derozan
Valanciunas
Ross
Lowry
Amir

I'm happy with that core. Like everyone has stated, it would be a good offseason if Bargnani was traded/amnestied and we acquired a backup PG (Calderon please).

As things are right now, the raptors will have a coin flip with the sixers to set the 11th and 12th spots on the lottery order. They will also have about a 0.7% chance of winning the lottery and probably between a 1-2% chance of moving into the top 3 and keeping this years pick.

Thiswould be able good year to hope we don't win the lottery though. It's a weak draft and we wouldn't be getting a game changer in the top 3.

On the contract front, Telfair, Anderson, and Pietrus are free agents, and Lucas and Kleiza have player options on their contracts. I would probably expect Kleiza to pick his up and then have the raps amnesty him, but who knows. Lucas I'm less sure about.

Also, brace yourself for Anderson to be back. Everyone on the coaching staff seems to love him. Here's hoping some other team sees what the raptors see in him and give him a stupid high contract offer.

Atleast ross got more minutes in the end of the season, than chuckerson

but really hope AA is taken out, so ross can take some steps in his game next year
