yeah if we want a big physical winger to crash and bang on teh forecheck then put eager and brown/jones on his wings. PRV must be allergic to faceoffs or he hates niclaus cage or something.

how about the Oilers pick up Roman Hamrlik? He's better than most every d-Man on the team.

Hamrlik is better than Peckham and maybe even Potter in my opinion but I don't think it really makes us better, no thanks.

That's not the point. Why is everyone so afraid to use or contract space? We had 47 and people were talking about not getting to full. The fact is there is only a month left to add contracts. If Hamrlik is someone the team likes then they might as well use the last spot.

In this season, moves to be made to shake things up.

To WAS: Hemsky and Petry

To Edm: Green and Brouwer
--------
To TB: PRV and Hartikainen

To Edm: Malone
--------
To MTL: Eager and Whitney

To Edm: White and Blunden
--------
To ANA: Potter and a 4th

To Edm: Fredick Anderson
-------
So the team would look much different

Hall-Nuge-Brouwer
Malone-Gagner-Eberle
Yakupov-Horcoff-Jones
Smyth-Belanger-Brown/Petrell
White

Smid-Green
Schultz-Schultz
Fistric-Peckham
Tuebert/others

Dubnyk
Habby

At the Draft move Peckham and a 2nd for a later pick in the 1st round, try to get Lazar at that spot

Buyout - Horcoff and Smyth(hopefully he just retires 'DONE')
Re-sign – Jones, Smid, Fistric, Petrell, Gagner and White
UFAs – Valtteri Filppula and Robyn Regehr
Filppula comes from an organization that knows how to win, he’s a solid upgrade on Horcoff and can play in the top-6 when needed.

Regehr may not be the same guy he was in Calgary, but he’s still a solid and mean defender, who I see as a nice partner for Justin Schultz. He makes the Oilers harder to play against.

So the team going into next season looks like
Hall – Nuge – Brouwer
Malone – Gagner – Eberle
Yakupov – Filppula – Jones
White – Belanger – Brown/Petrell
Lander

Smid – Green
Regehr – J. Schultz
N. Schultz – Klefbom
Fistric

Dubnyk
Anderson/Roy/another guy (not Habby)

I’m not saying this team is a gimme, nor that it would be simply put together, but I feel they’re all fairly reasonable moves that this team Could, make.
8 months? That should take about 8 years for Tambo unless this post assumes he's fired at the end of the season.

, we'll see. I imagine if that's the case one of two things will have or will be going to happen.

One, it will be the Oilers having a catastrophic meltdown toward the end of the season.

Two, it will be the BlueJackets suing the league for "rigging" the draft lottery

link?

oh nvm, i just gotta look at the standings to confirm that rumor. we're looking pretty good for another top 5 pick. except this year, i will not be excited when we watch the draft. In fact, I hope the stupid oilers don't put together a "draft party" to celebrate our absolute failure.

I can understand doing the party for hall, and RNH, but 4 times is getting a little silly dont yall think?

unless they are getting all ther revenue for new jerseys that fans keep buying every year. maybe they do it to rub it in to teams like cbj and fla "we suck worse than you, for longer than you, and we still have more people at our draft partys then you do at your games :troll laugh:"

What do you think about this trade? Maybe a draft pick needs added to even it out, but the main course would be this.

To Winnipeg: Nail Yakupov

To Oilers: Evander Kane

If we end up picking 1st again. They should be giving away a free jersey (choice of Hall, RNV, Yakupov, ____) to everyone that buys a ticket to a game next year.

I'm not a big fan of high numbers like 93 or 64 on a jersey, so I'd likely go with Hall or the new guy if they picked a number under 29.
