Hecht moving up is an indication of just how bad Foligno has been.
Foligno has been bad but so has 3 of our 4 lines all season. There's really no difference between our 2nd 3rd and 4th line they are equally bad to be on.
Maybe this is our Shutdown Line. Good idea? Not sure who needs to be shut down on the panthers though.
Not sure it's a checking line or just part of Rolston's assessment process.
Rolston's kept the #1 line together. But I've noticed he is sliding guys up and down the 2nd-4th lines based on their play and as he gets to know them better. In Foligno's case he slid right out of the lineup.

The fact that it is Rolston who ended up being the one to scratch Foligno makes me strangely very happy. It's exactly what needed to be done and he did it. If he scratches Drew Stafford next game I may just want to keep him around.

I'd think about Gerbe first. But Ron's a work ethic guy. You put your ass on the line out there, you'll play. You go through the motions, you sit.

I can see where you're coming from but I would love it if he ripped the A off of Staff.
Kevin Snow @kwsnow
Foligno looks to be scratched after getting extra work post-practice with Brennan & Leopold. Rolston confirmed Grigorenko will play.
George Richards @GeorgeRichards
Scott Clemmensen IN for #FlaPanthers v #Sabres ... Looks like Upshall, Kuba in as well; Kovalev, Santorelli, Versteeg out
Good. Marcus hasn't been doing what Marcus does to be successful. Time for a kick in the seat of the pants -- it is only his second pro year, not an unusual occurence if someone isn't working hard IMO.

Yes. Anyone who hints at something else hasn't been watching with a close eye.
And PLEASE don't talk to me about "expectations". It's not unreasonable to ask a guy to WORK HARD, especially a second-year pro. It has nothing to do with his lack of scoring, and everything to do with his DEAD play.
It seemed that accountability was something that was really starting to lack in the past few seasons under Ruff. Glad to see Rolston trying to re-establish it.

And being held accountable leads to players KNOWING they will be held accountable. That's what leads to good things.
Ruff was just too inconsistent with accountability that it seemed to have little to no effect at times.
I'd still rather have him playing than Scott or Hecht but.... cuz now Grig is gonna be centering Kaleta and Scott and we will have to hear about how Grig doesn't deserve minutes and how he isn't doing anything....

And then we'll hear about how if Grigs was centering Vanek and Pominville he'd put up 50 points this year.

I know that Foligno hasn't been playing that well (too much east-west) but sitting Foligno over Gerbe (or Scott) is pretty laughable. We're a god awful possession team and Foligno is our second best possession player this year. The goals will come when you're shooting 3%. It was a ridiculous expectation for him to be in the top 6. I guess we have to chalk it up to a teaching moment.
Exactly, everyone just wants an excuse for his poor play.
Besides, Foligno playing a lot better is worth sitting him for a game...benching Myers last year was the best thing to happen to him. One can hope Foligno responds similarly.
It's not like Foligno can't return to the lineup after a game or two.

I find it more outrageous you're gonna say Gerbe should sit over Hecht....
Hoping Vanek gets atleast a point tonight. If we win, it could give us momentum to go after the 8th spot. If we lose, then we are back in 15th and practically out of it.
