QFT. Gerbe's numbers, be it boxscore or advanced stats, are all horrific. 3 goals in 50 games? Not even close to 1 goal per 60 minutes of even strength time? Giving up over 3 times as many goals against per 60 minutes of even strength time? Just terrible.
Also, Hecht has been nowhere bad as everyone is making it out to seem (not directed to you Zip, you and I have both defended him). When he's on the ice, the other team rarely scores. He has a much clearer role / fits a much bigger need (defensive forward) than Gerbe does. I'm not advocating him playing 15 minutes but he should be in the lineup.

Gerbe is terrible. He had one good year in 10-11. The last two he has been garbage. I think it's sad that he actually is in our top 6 right now, I have no idea what Rolston is thinking. I'm hoping by the deadline Darcy can move Gerbe. I'd take a 5th round pick even for him, he has almost zero trade value. 5'5 guys who have 0 goals so far aren't worth anything.

I would think that he's trying to capitalize on their familiarity with each other from when they tore up the AHL together. The problem is that Gerbe has regressed from then and looks like he's using a nerf stick with as much power he's getting on his shots.
