umm. Have you watched Williams play? Sure Avery is fun to watch when he agitates people, but Williams can pass and score. Nope, Id rather have Williams.

As an LA fan, I'd pass.......Avery is Lappy's heir on the kings, and we don't really need Williams

I concede that Williams has more skill, but Avery is popular with the Wings' players which would boost team morale. I also think that Avery would provide more(fighting, agitating, scoring) than Williams given the same ice time.

Skill wise Williams is better. That being said I would rather have Avery on me team any day. True agitators don't come around as often as 15-20 goal scorers.

the kings have lappy's heir in their system before avery got here...his name is jens karlsonn. and he's got an even bigger upside than both lappy and avery imo.

i would do this trade in a heartbeat...

no thanks...

we already had avery and all he was for us was a pest, which we dont need, we need fighter who can play if anything. Williams can turn into a great 3rd center who can still put up his share of points, and still be solid, hopfully he'll get a roster spot. On some teams he may even be able to make it to the 2nd line, but in detroit, it'll never happen inless he picks it

At least this thread was one where the two players where of close to equal value. Oh and not one mention of the goalie that the wings are trying to dump. I wouldn't make the trade but it isn't a bad suggestion. Kudos.

Kings would do that deal... DET would never....

DL and KH hated the stupid penalties Avery would take. Which is why Avery was in the minors when the Kings/DET made the Schneider deal.

At similar or equal salary, I'll take skill over a pest EVERYTIME and so would any GM. The Kings lead the league the last three years in gritty tough, good skating players who couldn't handle the puck to save their lives.

From a Detroit standpoint, I'd throw in a pick to get it done(as high as 4th/5th). Avery still has tons of fans in Detroit, and he only played a year and a half. He also took away Williams' spot on the roster, after the cup win.

you just did.

you get such an attitude about Cujo proposals. But when his name isnt even mentioned, YOU have to bring it up.

take your own advice, and stop talking about it.

What makes you think I was talking about Cujo?
I thought the wings were trying to dump Manny and keep him. I only get the attitude about cujo because a day can't go by without some blind wing fan coming in saying that a deal where the wings send Cujo to any team for Jesus Christ and all of that teams picks and prospects forever happens.

Oh, and did you have an opinion on the topic at hand or did you just drop by to say hello?

it's been a LONG time since ANYONE came in and made up a stupid freakin proposal that included CUJO in it, i agree w/ x8od, let it go man, and no, we've always been trying to get rid of cujo, manny aint going anywhere, get mad at the idiots who make the stupid ignorant proposals, not the rest of us, if you dont' like em, fine, so be it, but you're the one who brought it up here, not any of the rest of us

as for the trade, i'd do it, williams has more potential than avery yes, but avery has the spark that we need sometimes, besides, he didn't look completely horrible, williams and avery are pretty much a wash, just depends what a team needs scoring or grit, last year avery was up casue we needed the grit more than the scoring,

to face wash - the only reason avery went back down to GR last year was because stevie came back, wasn't because of the stupid penalties he took cause those died out after hull gave him a room to live in, my bet is hull gave him more than a few pieces of advice
