I decided to remind us all of how it felt to win games that matter at home.

Seriously, this is a very winnable game. Lets play like we mean it.

Great job as always Trumpster!!
Seeing that video makes me think of many things..
See the NVMC packed with Islander fans? See what a winning team can do for attendance?
One of my favorite songs and 1 of my fondest memories seeing Bates put in that PS.

It makes me sick that we are leaving Nassau when there are fans, there are people wanting to see the team become good again. I wish Wang could have only saw this but he spent way more time putting his interests into the lighthouse project.

I can't stand the Leafs and in my opinion the dirtiest team in the NHL right now.
I hate to say it but if you seen what they did to the Habs a few weeks ago I wouldn't mind seeing Boulton out there tonight to protect our guys. We know Dion will most likely try to take a run at somebody tonight.

Islanders 5
Dirty,Rotten, Leafs 4

McLaren smiling during the fight, Orr trying to take out Plekanec. I really really really hate the Fn Leafs!!!

need to win this, Toronto will be tired after playing two straight games and they lost to Montreal so it's time to nail them while they are down

Tired team and likely Reimer starting after returning from injury.

If we can't win this one time to fold up your lawn chairs , focus on the draft , and maybe start a few GDT threads for Bridgeport instead to prepare for next year.

won't be able to watch and feel it's probably for the best. if we win great, if not... well that toronto series WAS the greatest series the islanders ever lost. all three home games were intense and i was still young enough to go to all of them.
we can always hope.

This is a game at home against an average team that played last night and then had to travel 500 miles. Losing to the Bruins is one thing, if you can't win under these circumstances, you aren't a playoff team.

next three are TOR, OTT, MTL - all winnable games IMO if the Isles play their best hockey and keep Nabby in all three. Nabby and JT are key to EVERY game - no pressure!

Leafs played awful against MTL yesterday, their top line was -12 and Phaneuf backed down from a Prust challenge, on home ice, not good. He's getting ripped in the hometown media, again, even though he's played very well this year.

Komisarek and Liles (two dmen that could easily help the Islanders) both continue to sit.

Leafs will be looking to bounce back and will start a few fights for sure, especially after yesterday's shaming. MacLaren, Orr, Fraser are heavy weights so it looks like Finley and Martin will get a challenge tonight. I expect Boulton to play as well, but we'll see.

Isles need to play with energy and emotion and drive the net, draw penalties, like JT did against Chara. When they play that way (and the PP is "on"), they can win.

Woo, the video I posted was used in the GDT. Anyways, Isles need to come out strong in this one and grab the lead. If they fall behind early we could be in trouble as a poor mentality may sink in. Since I can't watch the full game I expect the isles to win this one. I'll be back for the 2nd and 3rd though, so hopefully they play well.

Apparently NHL.com is embarrassed by the Islanders as they took them off the standings and added the Devils twice.

However, I do like them putting the Rangers in last.

From the AP's game 3 recap:

"The once-proud franchise began to right itself when Charles Wang and Sanjay Kumar purchased the club two years ago. They brought a commitment to winning."

Woops!

I'm not gonna hold my breath tonight, but lets see. Maybe they will surprise us by getting the lead first, keeping it, and winning without having to go to OT or shoot out.

Arthur Staple‏@StapeNewsday

Nabokov in goal tonight for #Isles. Finley in on D for Martinek. Boulton in for Ullstrom vs. Leafs.

Arthur Staple‏@StapeNewsday

Boulton-Reasoner-Martin, Grabner-Cizikas-McDonald up front. Finley paired with Streit. #Isles

Capuano is just terribile. With the players in the lineup tonight, I think the lines should look like this:

Moulson-JT-Boyes
Grabner-Nielsen-Bailey
Martin-Cizikas-Mcdonald
Boulton-Reasoner-Okposo

Love the GDT. I was 11 years old during that series. One of the few times I actually felt heartbroken over a loss in sports. That and the Knicks losing to the Pacers in the 2000 playoffs and the Yankees losing the 2001 World Series.
