My issue with PAP (as it is with Streit, Visnovsky, Nabokov and soon Boyes) is not so much with them being let go or traded, it's with who will replace them?

We replace good players with waivers, reclamation projects or unproven prospects. The team CANNOT improve this way. Ever.

It's painful to watch Boyes and Moulson out there together, they are absolutely dreadful. They will score goals but will finish the year minus 100 combined, if they stay together. In a short season, that would be something special.

Martin would be a far better winger with Tavares than either of those two.

Very good points.

I think a new coach is on the horizon. So we shall see what Weight can do.

Bang-on with the Ullstrom/Nino situation. It's puzzling because they don't have to keep Ullstrom around for the cap floor, they can just demote him and let him play in BP.

Grabner is a very limited player, still. Doesn't anyone find it odd that he gets chances ONLY on breakaways? There's NEVER a one-timer, a rebound or deflection, never a play generated off a cycle or even off the rush. All he's got is speed, explosive, incredible speed. I'd deal him! I think someone might think he's better than he is and pay!

Same for Moulson. Isles are NEVER in a position to "sell high" and I know him and JT are buddies and can play together, but I think he hurts us in so many ways. If the return was right, I deal him in a second. But keeping him means isolating him, sheltered minutes, with certain players who cover for him defensively and he can be a PP specialist. Only.

The team needs a shake-up and maybe it'll be some demotions and call-ups before a coaching change. Or Snow will do NOTHING, as expected.

I'd send down Aucoin, McDonald (they don't particularily deserve it but they just aren't good enough) and call up one of Nelson, Niederreiter (hurt his chances with his dumbass comments via his agent, and subsequent poor play) or Persson for a game or two.

I would love to see Martin on JT's wing. But what are the actual chances of that happening?

Also, I agree that Grabner is pretty limited player, but he is good on the PK and generates chances when we're down a man. I really don't mind him on the third line.

If this team ever gets some more top-6 forwards, I believe we'll appreciate Grabner keeping the opposition on their heels for 14 minutes per night.

Put him with complimentary (larger) players who also know their roles, and it'll be fine.

I know you're frustrated, but think about this. I think you're Boyes-crazy.
better than boy-crazy, I suppose.

I was happy they signed Boyes, I liked him as a player and thought he'd rebound from his BUF days. And he has, statistically. He has shown some flashes of good offensive plays too. But watching him and Moulson play makes my spinal chord tinge. At least SEPARATE them. It's worse than seeing two Kardashians on tv at the same time.

I like Grabs a lot, I do think he works hard and his explosiveness is worth keeping him around. He's not a liability on the ice, even if he's not scoring. He's exciting to watch, that's for sure. I know Kessel was at the end of a shift but Grabs blew by him on the breakaway. Impressive stuff!

That was pretty impressive, if he could only finish

2) I think Moulson is lazy, and not first line material, but the fact is, look how many points he has and how many assists he has. He is not 100% leatching of JT.
Well that's a different story, you need to be more specific and explain what "JT is done" means and why. I took it as he's not as good as we think he is and it's showing. They have 2 days off he can get some rest and see how he does.

Maybe Ullstrom is that type if player or damn.....many people have been saying this but play Martin with JT. We all know Martin is not afraid to forechecking, go in the offensive zone hard and has spectacular board play. Takes a lot of stress off JT. But something has to be done.
This was my exact concern heading into this season, there's no puck carrying help for JT on his line and both Moulson/Boyes aren't strong skaters. At this rate JT may wear down mentally and physically. He needs a creative, playmaking winger who can open up some space for him and take the burden of cycling off his shoulders once in a while.
