Damn, forgot about Block.

I LOVE what he brings to Iced Earth. Dystopia is a fantastic album.

He's a really underrated vocalist, and one of my favorites as well. Tremendous range and emotion in his voice. Not to mention he does it while also playing guitar.

Bruce Dickinson & Rob Halford are the 2 greatest metal vocalists of all-time, IMO.

Nobody really compares to them two if you ask me.

I love those 2 as well but Dickinson live sometimes has trouble hitting those highs your hear on the studio stuff. Halford has no problems with his live performances. Ive seen both live many times.

1. Halford.
2. Dickinson.
3. King Diamond.
4. Dio.
5. Mike Patton.
6. Corey Glover.
7. Chris Cornell.
8. James Hetfield. (does one thing, does it very, very well)
9. Mark Lanegan.
10. Robert Plant.

Freddie Mercury is an amazing singer and was a fantastic frontman, but I don't know if I would call him heavy rock or metal.

Well to be fair, I read this thread title as "favourite heavy metal or rock vocalist."

So since we can discuss metal or rock vocalists, then yes Freddie fits into the rock category.

1.) Maynard James Keenan (TOOL, APC)
2.) Layne Staley (Alice in Chains)
3.) Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath)
4.) Warrel Dane (Sanctuary, Nevermore)
5.) Simone Simons (Epica)
6.) Ronnie James Dio (Rainbow, Sabbath, Dio)
7.) Mike Patton (Faith No More and 100 other things)
8.) Roy Khan (Kamelot)
9.) Tarja Turunen (Nightwish, Solo)
10.) Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity)

HM: John Bush (Armored Saint, Anthrax) My favorite Anthrax record is "Sound of White Noise". He's the vocalist they should have had all along and kept. Belladonna is awful.

Didn't think I'd kill the tread so easily

I mean, I know Maynard is the best rock/metal vocalist of all time, but surely someone has something to say about it...
