The parentheses are unnecessary.

I do. It's odd and dark and the media just went full hyperbolic in their stretching of it.

Wish the Rangers had the pick to do it. Colorado should've traded him when they could.

That means O'Reilly is as good as a UFA in 2 years. His qualifying offer would be $6.5m.

He makes out like a bandit with this.

So that's a 1st and a 3rd from Calgary to Colorado if RoR signs and the Avs don't match? Damn.

I suspect even if the Rangers had the pick they probably wouldn't have done that. It's not Sather's game.

DiPietro said he told the reporter that if he had not had his wife's support through all the lows he has experienced -- most recently being waived by the Islanders -- that he'd have driven himself "into a tree."

"DiPietro also admitted injuries, losing and fan hatred over the past 3 years made him think about killing himself at one point," the News 12 Long Island reporter tweeted.

I believe he jokingingly said that he wanted to drive into a tree or something and everyone turned it into "entertaining suicidal thoughts".

Good news about that $6.5m qualifying offer is that we can probably pursue O'Reilly as a UFA next summer now, after buying out Richards, if we want.

Oh. That actually sounds reasonable.

Now I feel silly.
