Personally think they should both sit for Liles/Komo, but most will disagree.

I mentioned it in the GDT, but it's amazing how Kostka was a PPG in the AHL this season. He's a black-hole on offense up here. Can barely handle the puck.
Kostka has done an admirable job for us and I appreciate his efforts, but it's becoming clear that he is overmatched at this level. At the beginning when everyone was shaking the rust off, he looked great (midseason form with the Marlies) but it's obvious that he is lagging behind in the play. He has done a fine job overall, but we need to make the playoffs and we need to put in the players that give us the best chance to win and that's Gardiner and Liles.

true, chalk it up to timing issue.

he still should play some baseball in the offseason.

Holzer has been the new whipping boy the past few games.

Agreed. He was admirable at the beginning but it's really showing lately - even in the good games.

Liles/Gards for sure.

Before the Habs game I was seeing tons of posts praising him, and a few people saying this is why we traded Luke.

I was more referring to the opposition forwards. It seems that earlier in the season our defencemen were able to get to the puck quicker and clear the zone easier, and now the forechecking seems to be on them faster.

I don't mind Holzer. I do mind him in a top 4 role. I think him or Fraser should be in the lineup, and right now, I'm going with Fraser.

Reimer had good moments and bad. This is what one would expect considering the circumstances. Sitting back on his haunches instead of kneeling up tall. A little fatigue perhaps. Will round into form quickly I am sure.

Kadri really can do a lot in a tight space. In this league that's the only space one can often get. Quite impressive. Had a few bad moments with the puck stuck in their own end. Perhaps they were flagging in that third.

So the Leafs had a 9-6 month which to me is great. They had maybe 3 games which were really bad the Tampa and the first Carolina game and MTL last night. I guess they should have gotten at least a point in Ottawa.

Folks if they keep up with this record every month that is a playoff team. Do they need to clean things up and do certain players need to player better sure but they are still winning despite not playing perfect hockey.

The team last year would have lost a game like this tonight and then folded for the next 10 and after getting soundly beat by MTL last night they come up and put up a good effort until fatigued set in the last half of the 3rd period.

Reimer did not look good but first game back and now with 3 days to rest and practice he will get his timing back and be good to go.

Because he has played excellent at times this season even if he has struggled for the past three games?

He is still a rookie. He does have excellent promise.

Some of us watch hockey with perspective.

Wow, that's unsettling.

He could maybe play on the bottom pairing, but I don't think RC is comfortable having Fraser-Franson play 3/4 minutes.

Thus, he should be sitting.

I agree. Fraser has easily been better than Holzer this year. I'd go as far as saying that Fraser has been one of our best d-men this year.

looks to me like nhl regulars are starting to get into game shape now and lots of forwards have alot more jump then earlier in the season

for us kessel and grabovsky are skating alot better than those first 10-15 games

I watch the games too. He wasn't playing as bad as he has been lately, but didn't warant the credit he was getting imo.

I heard a new nickname for Kadri tonight. The Lebanese Lion. I still prefer the dream. What a game by him, unfortunately I didn't get to watch

Yeah. To me Komi should be playing. Looked good in the games he played. Give him a chance.

Holzer stunk last night and wasn't that bad tonight. But he is going to **** up. Shouldn't be with phaneuf and he shouldn't be in the top 4 . Needs to ease his way in. **** this **** I want Gardiner.

Holzer has played pretty well for a guy who's just 15 games into his NHL career, with a 1.135 Rel. Corsi Quality of Competition (top-25 in the NHL for defensemen, second on the Leafs behind Phaneuf).

He could be a pretty solid bottom-pairing/seventh guy moving forward IMO.
