Is that serious Vancouver!? A 84 C, a 4 star prospect, and a 1st. Either 1) it's a joke. 2) Vancouver has turned into a BAD trader. or 3) Really overrating Boston's 0-2 start. Like that's a trade that if I was making the decision EVEN THOUGH IM NOT I wouldn't approve

Not sure why anyone is chiming in.

Boston's pick may be a Top 10. After the first GMC draft, the rest are randomly generated and could land some significant pieces.

Severson can play right now with his skating if he likes the prospect, and many NHL fans do like Danny Severson.

Laich plays well above his 84 overall (on normal) due to his size and strength, has a decent contract at 4.5m, a great faceoff rating and fits into his 2nd line. I almost didn't move him because he's already putting up a PPG for me just due to him bulling over defenders.

People are forgetting that the settings have been changed to NORMAL.

Its a completely different game where Giroux himself cant win you it all. If this was All-Star default, then Giroux would be able to dominate and win games alone, but he's soft on the puck and cost him 9.5m on his 2nd line. I may end up flipping him at some point because I haven't used him on "Normal" settings, and if he's too soft, he's a goner.

For someone that wants to shed $5m in cap space, he doesn't exactly have that many options.

im just chiming in because i KNOW for a fact he received a much better offer involving a young star with 4.5 potential +

It's been Boston's 1st 2 games in a actual league. Once he adjusts, it won't be a good pick. After 8th, it was only 3.5* prospects, and about 13th, it was only 3* prospects. They stay on a rough setting of how the draft works. I know him irl and have playd with him a lot, his will be from 10th to 20th probably.

Severson is a 62 overall dman. He will take a while to develop to a 'playable level'. And with "normal" settings, with only his average to decent speed, he isn't good enough to realistically want him to play.

And even on normal, Giroux<<Laich. Laich's contract is decent, not great, and your ability to play with him doesn't mean that Vancouver will be able to.

Vancouver could get a lot more value for Giroux than this.

Not sure why anyone would petition about having this trade vetoed when the previous New Jersey owner destroyed this team and it was allowed.

He traded away Kovalchuk for Horton.

Where were you guys on that?

Its a video game, we're both happy about the deal, so who cares.

I certainly was giving a good ribbing at the previous NJD owner when I took over the team and saw he dealt away Kovalchuk, Larsson and his first round picks for virtually nothing, but I just rolled with it and decided I would see what I could do with this team...for fun.

Its a GAME.

I need cap guys. I know what im losing and know it's a terrible trade, im not retarded haha. I couldn't take anymore then 4.5 mil in cap back. But I get a good player back that can win draws and who's strong in the trenches, and a future lottery pick .

I could have kept Giroux and traded Whitney and Martinez (both would be terrible trades too), but then my backend would blow.
