This is on top of his goal and assist.

And he never looked tired today. He looked like a true top-pairing defenseman today.
Agreed.
He still made a few dumb plays here and there but he was a horse and is starting to get his offensive confidence back. He's so much better when he plays aggressive, i didn't see whimpy play from him at all.

So sorry Dallas, i know we're not supposed to beat your ass and take your milk money. i know that upsets the natural order of things so you've got to react like whiny goon *****es. ****ing punks.

Yeah... he certainly has alot to learn, even in the offensive end of things. Still has that mentality of hanging onto the puck far too long, and also trying to deke through the entire opposition instead of using teammates far more effectively. I'm fine with his minutes, frankly -- this will hopefully break him of those bad habits and force him to learn a more complete game.

Petry is the new whipping boy now that Whitney and Horcoff is out.

He made a mistake in Chicago and now we're burying him for it.

He's been playing fine. No need to change his game.

I'm not sure Schultz will keep his assist on the Hemsky goal though.

Your friend is correct, we did have a claim put in on him (as did several other teams) but yes, because Washington was the lowest on the rung they were able to claim him.

When Lander and Horcoff come back I'd like to try Belanger in the PB for a little while, or at least have Lander as a winger. Hard to pick a guy for him to go in for because our bottom 6 has been pretty phenomenal in terms of doing their job so far.

Belanger, Petrell, Jones, Smyth - these guys have been great on the PK and are starting to come around at ES. No real offensive chances given up by them.

I just personally feel Lander was starting to show signs of turning the corner before he got injured.

Life is good tonight.
Oilers absolutely destroy the hated Stars in Dallas, getting the result we probably deserved out of both the games played in Edmonton.
The Flames offer sheet gets matched and they lose out on their #3(#1) C, and blow a 2 goal lead and are now losing in the third in Colorado.

BEAUTIFUL.

I'm also amazed no has really mentioned Gagner fighting a far larger guy and still making it out none the worse for wear. That takes balls, and he stood up for himself after getting crushed by Dillon.

Yeah I thought Smyth might've touched the puck at some point.

But even if he didn't I think a Dallas player controlled the puck after Schultz dumped it in.

Good for Eager to get that 1st of the season. I enjoyed his hit right before that and hustling back to get onside. I liked the first half of his corner meeting with Morrow. I hated the last half of his altercation with Morrow. He needs to reel it in slightly.

Apparently we're visiting St. Louis at a good time. We're both on back-to-backs and they lost Backes tonight. He joins Steen, Macdonald, Tarasenko and Langenbrunner on mend.

I see a less-retarded version of Bouwmeester in him. Great skater, big body, good stick, good puck-handling.

He honestly seemed to look better without Smid as his partner tonight. Which brings up an interesting point.

Would changing up the pairings a bit make our team a bit more impressive at ES?

Schultz-Schultz and Petry-Smid were starting to look a bit more disorganized in the past few games, but I noticed Petry-N.Schultz was very solid today.

I'd like to try J.Schultz-Smid together as well - as Schultz's development improves he'd look good with the heavy minutes alongside Smid. He also off-sets Smid's piss-poor breakout attempts, and would help us get out of our zone.

Not sure of the hate for Eberle. He looked great tonight and seems to be getting out of his funk. He's fine.

Hey Oiler fans, good win for you guys tonight. You def played better then us and i hope Jones is ok. I agree what Benn did was excusable and i think he will be suspended.

Anyway good win for ya'll and hope next time, it won't be so bad.

How about Justin Schultz scoring at a 50-point pace as a rookie. Unbelievable. Here I was saying I'd be happy with a 35-point pace.

Man .... I really like Rob Brown but he's on CHED right now making excuses for Benn's hit on Jones.

Aint that the truth. Hall thread was disgusting and insults were a plenty towards Oiler fans. Now in the Benn thread Jones is a filthy diver and the insults are a plenty towards Oiler fans. HF is beyond predictable.

Anyways, that was a great job by the Oil minus the power play. Hopefully we can build on this and start to put our offensive woes behind us. With any luck Sestito will be an Oiler soon and we can push back a little more when we get gooned.
