I agree. TML and the Blues are just not a good match for a trade. Andy Strickland kinda sucks at the whole journalism thing.

We're trying to make that thing....what's it called again....p..ppla.....playoffs? Sorry, It's been so long I couldn't remember right away.

In other words, yes, the Leafs are looking for young roster players to make the team better. Either looking to package multiple depth players or top six/top four players for an upgrade(s).

Leafs need to make the playoffs this year, next year at the absolute latest, so they need roster players that'll make a difference now.

In the sense, the Blues could use a goal scorer, sure, but that's what they hoped/hope Tarasenko would/will be. Blues already have too many wingers really, and a big salary most likely isn't going to be added. I think Hitch likes every single player to be defensively excellent as well, not just most guys. So Kessel probably isn't a fit. I think the Blues move wingers, picks and prospects for a 3rd centre, or potential/future 1 LD

No. Kessel needs to be put in an offence based system. A team like Edmonton, Islanders, Sharks, Hawks, Stars, Penguins would be good fits for him

They are similar.
I've watched nearly every Leafs game this year as I love your guys team and style of play. But Kulemin is in no way close to Stewart in value or skill.

David Perron
Vladimir Sobotka
Chris Stewart

Jake Gardiner
Nikolai Kulemin
Clarke MacArthur

Leafs improve in the size and skill department, albeit lose a blue chipper in Gardiner.

Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
JVR - Grabovski - Perron
Frattin - Kadri - Stewart
Komarov - McClement - Sobotka

This is what you call depth.

You'll get a no from Blues fans. If Perron and Stewart both get moved in the same deal a legitimate current top pairing LD better be coming back, not a potential one. . Also, Sobotka will not be traded.

If Gardiner is asked to be included, then he should be included for sure.

Leafs have no need for Stewart , the infatuation was that Toronto people wanted to bring a Toronto kid who fit a absence of skill size and toughness on the wing. No longer a factor if Stewart is a upgrade on Kuli it's marginal and there is no reason to trade for him, center is where it's at not likely trade partners if it's not a veteran d going to St Lou for next to nothing, Wade ain't the answer.

Chris Stewart>>Kulemin
David Perron>>>MacArthur
Gardiner>Sobtoka (Would have added more >'s but Sobotka's value to the Blues is through the roof due to he is Hitchcock's favorite player.

Blues get much worse. Why on Earth is this even a proposal?

lol, yeah Blues are gonna help the Leafs like that just cause. When you say your team improves in everything it might mean the trade is highly stacked in your teams favor. Last I checked Armstrong is not a TOR fan.

As a leaf fan, the only trade I would be interested in would be:

Stewart for Kulemin

Maybe a mid round pick to even things out.

The teams make terrible trading partners...they both share similar needs. Unless it were a swap at the same position, I don't see how a deal could be made.

Considering we are looking for the same things, I'm not getting the potential deal here.

Blues won't trade Berglund and I'm guessing Leafs aren't trading Phaneuf or Grabo

As a Leafs fan, I would hope Nonis is open to trading Grabo.

I'd be very open to moving Grabo if I was in charge. Any guesses at what the Blues would offer?
