You could get him for cheap, decent prospect and a pick
he has really not impressed here (apart from a stretch before he got hurt in Colorado). Bit of a reclamation project. trust me, it won't cost any significant roster player and we will need to probably dump him after this season to stay cal compliant
I think you'd be more likely to get Brassard than Anisimov. Brass has been around the organization for so long and we're going through a changing of the guards at the moment. That and Anisimov has looked like a better fit for this team's playstyle in his [limited] appearances in the CBJ sweater.
In my previous post I said Dubinsky might be a untouchable based on JD's comments. Anismov was the other player that was mentioned by JD so I don't think he'll get traded as well. I would consider trading Brassard for Booth, not sure if Kekailanen/JD would though.
No thanks, jackets have a surplus of D. Don't need to swap a player who " injured a lot lately plus his heavy contract" why would Columbus want that? We are rebuilding and need to keep our cap space open as well as acquire as much young talent as possible, thanks but no thanks.
to the op, booth hasn't been a reliable goal scorer since pre-concussion. when he left the panthers, he was strictly a north-south player shooting a lot, though mostly from angles and places where the chance of a goal or a good rebound is very limited.
you can find better options than david booth if it's goals you want
Canucks have zero reason to move him right now unless we get someone just as good in return.
At the draft, he could possibly be moved for picks/prospects.
Is Dubinsky available?
Understandable. And no, Dubinsky is not available. He's kind of important here.

Absolutely not a chance in hell. Booth for Umby straight up is a lateral move. Throw in the first and it's a ripoff.

Brassard's the only one of those guys who's available. In particular, including Atkinson in the discussion is a good way to get you flamed - he's on the list of "don't even think about it" type like the two Ryans (Murray and Johansen).
Overall impression I'm getting here is that the Canucks don't really need to trade Booth, and what they're after if they try anyways are assets the Jackets aren't really prepared to give up.
Remember - when you're a hockey fan, it's not "reckless driving", it's "good forechecking".

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!
