Nice goal by Ranford for his second on the night; now 3-0.

Kelowna should throw their backup Whistle in goal; he has been amazing this season and might wind up being a later draft pick this summer I'd guess.

Yeah, Linaker makes it interesting by scoring one - which is rare for him!

EDIT: Regan Bartel is starting to get amped up!

Whew. Is it safe to call Yasin Cisse a bust yet? I know that late round picks have a fairly low chance of becoming anything, but looking at his stat totals for playing as an overager in a more offensive QMJHL, and they are pretty bad. He's barely a .500 ppg player.

2 PP's, 2 assists for Scheifele, feeding Eckblad and Beyers for the goals. End of the 1st, and it's 2-0 Barrie. No video or audio for this game today, unfortunately - technical difficulties, apparently.

Not bad!

Rough game tonight - wish it was being streamed. 13 penalties totalling 32 minutes in the 1st period alone.

I'm sorry but someone who put up what(?) 40 points in 19 games when sent back to the OHL and has 15 points in 7 OHL playoff games could really need any kind of significant AHL time next season. I really think the kid is ready to make a solid impact next year on the Jets.

I agree. I hope they put him in a position to succeed next year. Let him centre the 1st or 2nd line for a while to start the season and see how things go. None of this playing him on the 4th line garbage.

I keep saying this but no one cares :'(
I think he'll be used similarly to how Carlyle used Kadri. Third line very sheltered, but sometimes given some 2nd line work.
I also think he'll do very well there

Agree completely - he'll have a bit of a transition to make, but he's got some skills that the Jets could really use. His one timer is great, his shot is truly NHL quality, he sees the ice really well, and thinks the game quickly. Give him some time adjusting to the speed of the NHL, and I'm almost positive he'll push for the 2C position next year. He was 2PPG from the start of December this year, and I think a little above that after being sent back down.

Really hoping the Colts can win everything this year - would be a great way for him to finish his Junior career. Then: skating and packing on pounds to get ready for TC next year.

Scheifele's so opportunistic, and has mostly fixed his top end speed issues, so I'm thinking that he'd look great centering the Kane line, cleaning up after him. He's got a nose for the puck and the net, and has really worked on his finishing abilities this year.

Just noticed Belleville, Barrie, and London are all waltzing through their respective 2nd round match ups at this point.

I kind of expected it from Belleville and London, but the Barrie series is surprising me. Oshawa is no pushover and I think many expected them to be evenly matched. Even when the Colts had an iffy game (Game 1) they came back and won it.

Which probably wouldn't be a problem if we had good players on the 3rd line for him to play with.
