Leonid Komarov may be heading back to Dynamo Moscow. This would be more than cool.

Medvedev said the goal is to raise the number of games from 52 to 68-72.

it looks like the khl has some really beef with the FHR (very very interesting interview)

Not sure if I like this.

The strenght of Soviet hockey compared to NA hockey was always the ratio of practices to games. The Soviets practiced more and had less games than North Americans.

Soviet "10 months in a camp" training system is absolutely inapplicable in professional Russian hockey. Come on, let's be serious.

The "strenght of Soviet hockey" rooted first of all in the Soviet political, social and economic realities that will never be restorded an thank God for that.

You have no idea what youre talking about, this is not USSR and never will be KHL needs to be like NHL not like USSR superleague.

Unlike what you want,KHL wants to become,at some point, profitable or atleast close to it.So they do whats best fro THEM,logic is very simple more games-more profit.

Oh and by the way increasing games only increaes player endurance,so theres that.

I believe the correct amount of games is 60. There should be a higher ratio of practises to games, even though it is not plausible to operate the way the teams did in the Soviet times. Otherwise the hockey will be watered down, teams will be less prepared physically, emotionally, psychologically etc..

Sergei Kostitsyn wants to return to Avangard next season. But what is his contract status? Does he have a contract with Predators next season?

I hate to say it but from the way he plays like and his size and everything Nichushkin makes a way better NHL player than he ever could be in the KHL.

IMO this wont help him any. He says he will go back to Russia if he doesn't make the NHL... I don't think the team drafting him will expect him to make the NHL and going back home to Russia isn't exactly what teams are going to want to hear anyways.

Even though I agree with you 100%, I think Nichushkin could make an NHL team.

And why wouldn't he make the NHL? He's a top 10 prospect after all.
His contract is cancelled that's what matters.

Why did Dynamo agree to cancel Nichushkin's contract?

Because he will be back and there is no point in having a bad relationship. Better to have him back in a few years than never see him again once his contract is up.

How do you know he will be back in a few years?
