So a 2nd and Connaughton or Ott and Pardy.

I'll take Ott and Pardy. Trading Roy last summer wa the right move, case closed. We weren't gonna do better than what we got, we would have sucked with him this year anyway, and he was leaving for nothing this summer if we did trade him.

Good fit for Vancouver as a rental. He'll be going to crappy team with a lot of cap space this summer.

Can't believe that's all Dallas got. The opinion of Roy around the league must be LOW. He's easily one of the best forwards available right now.

Good trade for Vancouver...I'll be interested to see if they still go after Pominville. I think they should be all over that, Kesler/pominville could be lethal on the second line.

The NHL is a pretty small world... Roy has been and always will be a freelancing floater with a crap attitude and just an all around tool. The Sabres knew it, and the rest of the league likely does too....

Just goes to show you that goals and assists are important, but so are a lot of other factors.

The reason Roy has no value has to do with the answers to these questions:
1) How many contenders want to overpay for 20 games of their third best center?
2) How many bubble teams think Roy puts them over the top?

Jagr to Boston.ugh, Jagr was a favorite of mine growing up but I despise the Bruins.

I take a 2nd and Connauton over Ott/Pardy 7 days a week.

Than again I'm of the opinion the rebuild already started, so

Pittsburgh/Boston is going to be awesome if they play each other.

Seriously. Definitely hoping for that matchup, though I'm not quite sure who I'd be rooting for.

I hate boston, why does Jagr have to go there of all places. A lot of trades happening before the deadline. Takes Boston out of Pominville sweepstakes

Some people will just never get it... Ott is so much better then a 2nd and a crap prospect. Paging sabresfansince1980

Actually, the case isn't closed. At best, it's arguable. If Ott leaves next summer with no compensation, it becomes a very bad deal for Buffalo, even worse than how it ended up hurting the team on the ice this season--unless you believe it was a success because it helped us tank, in which case one should love the trade for that reason.

You're better than that. I expect this type of post from some of the others, but you?

He got traded because he wants another big contract, a contract bigger than what Dallas was willing to give him. And there's a decent chance he'll get it given that he may be far and away the best available center if Ribeiro and the Caps can agree on term.

Ribeiro got a 2nd and Cody Eakin. Eakin probably ends up as a 2C/3C tweener. If Dallas thinks highly of Connauton, and some do, it's not far off what Washington paid for an entire season of Ribeiro.

Dallas gets seven years of team control over the 2nd rounder and 4.5 years of control over Connauton. Pretty good return for a guy they weren't going to be able to re-sign.

Yeah, you're right. The Iginla angle makes that a bit easier, too.

I'm just sick of the Pens.

That Jagr deal is pretty mediocre... I woul think Poms would fetch more, but i that's what the offers look like keep him til draft at least.

22 points in 30 games for roy.
good move vancouver getting him.
and as I see people saying he is only a third liner, then 22 points for a third liner is pretty good.

The key difference is Pommer is signed for one more year, which affects his value greatly.
